Bay Area Wedding Fairs assembles exhibitors from all areas of wedding planning for intimate and fun gatherings at various Bay Area grand-hotel ballrooms. Ranging from photographers to florists to the elves that carve the tiny bride-and-groom cake toppers, the fairs' exhibitors find time to discuss their services thoroughly during the unhurried, casual events. Additionally, each Wedding Fair organizes complimentary events, which may include bridal-gown and men's-formal-wear fashion shows, bridal seminars, food-and-wine samplings, and in-booth personal services such as makeup applications.
LeMans Karting helps visitors satisfy their needs for speed, safety, and social interaction. Nine-horsepower SODI RX 7 karts take drivers soaring at speeds of up to 42 mph across indoor and outdoor tracks as they compete for the fastest finish. High-grip track surfaces help drivers reach top speeds, and high-visibility lighting and flagmen keep everyone safe as they round corners and pass other drivers on the wide course. On certain days, the staff connects the indoor and outdoor track into a single, giant mega track that hosts extended races when it’s not busy fighting Godzilla.
LeMans Karting also offers endurance racing for drivers who want to sharpen their driving skills or land a job as Vin Diesel’s chauffer. The center also offers private parties for birthdays and bachelor parties and can help plan charity or corporate events.
For more than a decade, Team Bay Tennis's founder and director Igor Savanovic has fine-tuned the swings of athletes ranging from beginners to pros. Savanovic and two other instructors tailor their instruction to varying levels of play. They work with graduated court and racket sizes while forming a personal rapport and motivational relationship with students. Adults hone strokes in clinics or one-on-one lessons that focus on technical aspects of the game, such as how to deal with hecklers.
Golfland debuted its first putt-putt green in 1953 and has since expanded to seven locations across California and Arizona. Each location features one to three 18-hole courses, replete with colorful castles, windmills, and fountains. After navigating the obstacle-filled fairways, guests can try their hands at an array of arcade games, whether felling foes in fighting games, stocking up on tickets to win prizes, or following the spellbinding plotline of a pinball game. At the San Jose location, visitors can cool off in the warmer months with a trip down parallel outdoor waterslides.
Within his teaching domain at Fremont Park Golf Center, PGA professional Ren Chang smoothes rusty swing mechanics and hones mental strategy, with an emphasis on shoring up the fundamentals. Ren brings more than 20 years of golf experience—including more than 10 years as a teacher—when he teaches his personally tailored lessons. He employs video analysis to ascertain problem areas such as assuming a weak stance or mistaking a tire iron for a pitching wedge, and then both student and teacher collaborate to craft a swing that feels comfortable and leads to lower scores. Throughout instruction, Ren aims to make students as comfortable as possible, keeping an extra set of clubs on hand to loan to those who need them. He is also fluent in Chinese, ideal for native Chinese speakers and those seeking to curse at their clubs in more than one language.
Mark S. Macy has been helping golfers improve their games for more than 25 years with a methodical, easygoing style and skills that have earned him top 10 finishes in Northern California Golf Association state-level amateur matches. His lessons comfortably conform to beginners' needs, as well as the demands of more advanced golfers. His grab bag of performance-enhancing tools includes video recording to capture and analyze swings, an indoor golf simulator, and a portable radar gun that tracks the speed of balls in flight and detects miniature subs lurking in water hazards.
