There's room for all types of workouts in Nexxt Level Sports' 22,000-square-foot, climate-controlled facility. Basketball players can hone their technique on two NBA-length hardwood courts, and baseball players can perfect their swings in 70-foot batting cages instead of going to an orchard and waiting for regulation-sized apples to fall. In group-training classes, meanwhile, gym patrons can focus on strength or build endurance with varied circuit workouts, including strength and resistance training. For a more private workout, personal trainers also lead one-on-one sessions, tailoring their exercises to the clients' fitness goals.
Now celebrating 130 years of health, fitness, and community, the YMCA remains true to its lasting mission of physical and social enrichment for men, women, and kids. Staff members at the YMCA of Gloucester County uphold the organization?s core values of honesty, acceptance, and fairness as they invest in their community?s children and strengthen family bonds critically weakened by overzealous games of Monopoly. They pump up adult-fitness regimens with aquatic-fitness classes, a martial-arts studio, and personal-training sessions. When they?re not helping adults trim down waistlines during yoga and aerobics classes, staff members are getting back in touch with their inner children. They stimulate imagination, mental development, and growth as they lead children?s day camps, afterschool programs, and youth basketball.
ZonePlay Sports allows athletes of all skill levels to experience the exercise, socialization, and friendly competition of organized sports during it's various coed and men's leagues, which include flag football, basketball, bowling, and dodgeball. Games are held at several South Jersey locations, and ZonePlay's league coordinators equip players with team shirts and all the necessary equipment. Throughout each season, participants can keep track of scores online, or promise to buy kids a pony if they write down the stats on a piece of paper. Teams that win in the playoffs typically earn championship shirts and a team trophy.
Philadelphia Sports Network boasts more than 10,000 members, making it the largest organization for recreational sports in Philadelphia. Registration in the adults-only coed dodgeball league includes team shirts, equipment, two referees per game, free post-game drinks, championship prizes, special PSN Pass discount card, and more. Dodgeball teams play seven or eight weekly matches including playoffs and championship games. Teams contain a minimum of nine players who rotate onto the court for a six-on-six, action-packed recreation of the playground battlegrounds of yore.
For four decades, Putt-Putt Golf and Games has hosted friendly competition with four putt-putt golf courses and an array of games. Colorful blossoms and rocky waterfalls add character to 18-hole putt-putt golf courses, and creative hole designs add challenge. Groups of partygoers can request a staff chaperone to guide them through the labyrinth and hand over a treasure map to the course’s bounty of nougat-filled golf balls.
In the Game Zone, visitors settle competitive challenges at an air-hockey table or face-off against digital emissaries in the Terminator Salvation arcade game. Outside, the Jump Shot is a trampoline basketball hoop that launches athletes toward slam-dunks in lower orbit.
Ever since participating in his first organized game at age 4, Ben Stirt has been infatuated with basketball. From there, he played on teams throughout high school and college, including Carnegie Mellon's 2006 conference-championship team. Afterward, he focused on refining his coaching skills, and even worked with future NBA stars, including Sam Young.
He continues training the game's next generation at Court Vision Basketball Performance. Here, he shapes individualized regimens for players during private training sessions and runs competitive one-on-one and two-on-two scrimmages during small group classes. Coach Ben even hosts courses entirely dedicated to shooting, wherein students learn such techniques as proper hand positions.
