The holistic-health counselor helps guests set and accomplish realistic goals through training sessions, email support, and easy recipes. She also hosts yoga and Zumba classes once a week and offers occasional health workshops, such as Healing Oils of the Bible.
Laureen Mikos was barely walking before she started tapping, stepping, and swinging. At age five, she discovered a love of dance, studying jazz, ballet, tap, and modern dance styles before most people grow out of their baby feet. Over the years, her repertoire expanded to include hiphop and bellydancing, as well as Zumba dance fitness.
At Shakin' It Up Dance and Fitness Center, she leads a team of personal trainers, dancers, and fitness instructors to impart choreographed wisdom in dance and exercise classes. Now an established and trained artist, she shares her expertise with clients who require gussying up for weddings, proms, and editorial photo shoots. As an added bonus to her skin treatments and makeovers, she explains her process to her clients so that they can replicate their new looks at home.
Fueled by a desire to offer their clients fun and motivating ways to stay active, The Action Room's instructors lead myriad classes, from ballroom dancing to country line dancing to Zumba fitness. For those preparing for a wedding or formal touchdown celebration, the instructors teach private and group dance lessons that cover all the major ballroom moves. In addition to leading dance-focused classes, the instructors set pupils' hearts pumping during fitness-based classes that include cardio kickboxing, TRX suspension training, and yoga. High-octane boot camps prepare bodies for the beach, and tummy-centered Pilates workouts help patrons build solid core muscles to deflect any flailing limbs on the dance floor.
