Salon Zurell’s stylists start each haircut with an in-depth consultation, and end it with a styling lesson. Using this one-on-one approach, the staff imparts unparalleled wisdom during salon services, which include conditioning treatments, highlights, and perms. The salon also offers spa treatments such as waxing, mani-pedis, and facials performed with organic Éminence products that are completely free of harmful chemicals, additives, and other ingredients that will make dolphins cry.

Inside the monochromatic confines of Plush Salon, a team of hairstylists stands over a row of white leather chairs, doting on heads with shears and brushes laden with professional hair color. Voted the best salon by White Plains Patch readers in 2012, the beauty haven is helmed by co-owners Kristy Rotonde and Anthony Fidanza, who collaborated on the design of the savvy interior, complete with 6-inch personal TVs at every styling station.

Under the direction of J. Christian Rea, the stylists at Salon 647 snip, color, and arrange hair into trendy ‘dos. They perform services with high-quality Goldwell and Moroccanoil products, using the latter to nourish parched or damaged strands. Treatments take place amid the chic decor of moss-green walls and mirrors draped with zebra-print panels.

Dean and Lisa Rodrigue always talked about opening their own salon. In 2010, they took the leap and founded Couture Salon, a chic hair salon with dark hardwood floors and upscale touches like brocade accent walls. Since opening they business, they’ve sharpened their hair-styling skills and broadened their service menu. In addition to waxing and spray-tan treatments, they offer facials and eyelash extensions. Couture Salon stays open until 8 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays to accommodate the moon if it needs a haircut and those with busy work schedules.

The staff at Artistic Images shares their hairstyling skills with their clients, but also with other stylists around New England as styling educators. That’s not to say that they don’t keep up with their own training; in fact, they keep abreast of hair’s latest trends in order to cut, color, permanently straighten, or otherwise re-texturize hair in the way their clients envision. Their knowledge as educators helps them make product suggestions so that clients can maintain salon looks at home.

For more than 20 years, owner Michael Marino and his staff of stylists have colored, cut, and texturized male and female strands using Paul Mitchell products. In addition to hair services, the salon staff performs manicures and pedicures at the nail station and eyebrow shaping in a blue room dubbed the Brow Bar. Before appointments, clients can lounge on a window seat covered in plush embroidered cushions while counting the many sparkling square tiles covering the reception desk. A refreshment station housed inside a modern, bright-green cabinet with silver embellishments displays coffee and tea on a daily basis, and complimentary wine and appetizers are served every Thursday night.
