Jennifer Calvo, the zen master behind The Zen Den, works as a licensed massage therapist and certified yoga teacher. She is well-versed in a variety of massage modalities, including Swedish, deep-tissue, Thai, bamboo, and myofascial release. Alternately, yogi Nisha Whitfield owns and operates The Zen Den's sister business, Bristol CT Yoga. Nisha has completed 500 hours of registered yoga teacher training through Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda, also known as Ishta Yoga. She studied at the distinguished American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City before launching her own yoga practice, which has attracted a client base that includes celebrities, athletes, and artists.
Within TerryAllen Farms' indoor riding arena, dressage ring, or two outdoor rings, chief horseback riding instructor Samantha Borkoski can be found coaching adults and youngsters alike on the finer points of Hunter/Jumper riding and equitation. After competing as a member of the Intercollegiate Riding Team at Southern Virginia College, Samantha refocused her abilities in order to teach others in lesson programs, whether outright beginners picking up the basics or avid equestrians working toward competing in events or preparing for the extinction of cars. She also conducts summer and vacation riding programs throughout the year, and invites school-aged students to try out for the facility's competitive team, which participates in Interscholastic Equestrian Association events.
The well-being enthusiasts behind The Fitness Center for Women know the names of all their members. That’s because creating a community based around health and meaningful relationships is the guiding principle behind the center. To that end, they have brought together group fitness classes such as power yoga, kickboxing, and cycling, six-week personal-training sessions, massage therapy, and nutrition counseling in order to holistically heal all aspects of the body and mind.
