In 2000, Jacqueline Amendola, owner of Pixie Fitness, strutted her way into the title of Exotic Dancer magazine's World's Sexiest Showgirl. As a headliner, she mastered all manner of inversions and twirls, keeping in peak physical shape as a personal trainer of 12 years. Today, she leans on this experience to lead pole-dancing classes and a variety of group fitness classes, such as Zumba, yoga, and sensual dance.
To give her studio a competitive edge, Jacqueline has employed master instructor Derick Pierson, who won the American Pole Fitness Championships in 2011. An ex-cheerleader with a background in competitive tumbling and amateur high-fiving, Derick trained at the South Florida Circus Arts School and studied under US Pole Dance Federation pro Allison Sipes before going on to win multiple championships in the art form.
The certified professional mechanics of B & J Bicycle Shop, Inc., in business since 1985, put cyclists on the road, trail, or mountain atop bikes from names such as Giant, MirraCo, and Trek. Staffers assemble, tune, and test each steed onsite, and can custom-fit components for rider comfort. To keep up on cycling trends and tech, crew members train with factory service technicians several times per year, ensuring up-to-date knowledge guides all maintenance services and ride-smoothing tune-ups. The shop also stocks a selection of gear and accessories, preventing riders from having to craft protective gear out of bubble wrap.

The staff at Velocity Martial Arts swears by the martial arts as a nonacademic method for gifting kids with the tools they need to become successful and productive adults. As they learn combative moves in capoeira, Brazilian jujitsu, and kickboxing classes, they also learn to temper themselves and have respect for fellow students. Led by mixed-martial-arts Master Charles Panoyan, the school's instructors accept students of almost any age. That means even adults can learn body-conditioning exercises and self-defense moves that will serve them well on the street or when being pelted with mashed potatoes during a raucous board meeting.
