Adventures in Florida gives you the chance to experience the serene beauty of Florida galaxies away from the T-shirt-cannon-wielding mascots and bedazzled, man-eating airhorns of modern life. After grabbing your favorite life partner for your full-moon paddle, you'll be briefed by an ACA-certified kayak/canoe instructor who will put your paddling apprehensions at ease with a local's deep knowledge of the Winter Park Chain of Lakes. Set out in the midst of a sultry sunset and watch the moon come out to drench your vessel in dim, flattering light that's ideal whether you're looking for high romance or an atmospheric night of ghost stories. Adventures in Florida welcomes customers to bring wine and/or spirits to heighten the dizzifying majesty of the moon people that hide in their peripheral vision.

One of the few undisturbed black-water streams still coursing through Florida, Spruce Creek teems with endangered wildlife flitting through placid waters and along its verdant shores. The outfitters at Cracker Creek Canoeing equip adventurers to explore those backwaters with kayaks, pontoons, and even hydro bikes, which chart courses through dense hardwood forests, cypress swamps, and coastal marshes. Additionally, Cracker Creek Canoeing’s launch point occupies a 20-acre 1930s homestead retrofitted with picnic tables, restrooms, and maps for hopelessly lost tugboat captains.

Drawing from experience in activities such as surfing, kiteboarding, snowboarding, and wakeboarding, the staff at Sandy Point Progressive Sports pour all of their energy into instructing others in outdoor extreme sports. They helm one-on-one lessons on kitesurfing and standup paddleboarding throughout central Florida’s waters, as well as kayak and standup paddleboard eco tours, during which guides point out native plants and wildlife while helping paddlers navigate wetlands, rivers, and inlets. As part of their involvement in the local community, they also conduct free kayaking and standup-paddleboarding demonstrations, where representatives of popular brands arrive with new equipment to test and then sacrifice to Poseidon in exchange for fair waters. In addition to lessons, staffers rent and sell up-to-date gear such as backpacks for hiking and camping, canoes and kayaks, and kiteboards and snowboards.

Three Brothers Boards instructors help prospective paddlers see amphibious sights from a new perspective during their scenic paddleboard tours. Combining the standing posture of surfing with kayaking's oar-powered propulsion, paddleboarding lets sea students glide atop calm waters while peering deep into the submarine scenes beneath. Like a trip to a nature preserve or an invitation to a squirrel's housewarming party, participants can see an abundance of wildlife in a relaxed setting, including dolphins, sea turtles, manatees, bald eagles, and a variety of vegetation. Wayfarers of any age or skill level learn the smooth-sailing style during a maritime voyage atop one of the boards, handcrafted by the waterborne brothers. The lightweight, easy to maneuver, and stable boards come in a variety of makes and models, with vessels calibrated for leisurely cruises or drag races with jellyfish greasers.

At Daytona Beach Parasail, flightless humans can highlight day trips to Daytona Beach with a parasail adventure. After taking off from the flight deck of a boat piloted by a USCG-licensed captain, customers soar 2,000 feet in the air, which is the perfect height for catching scenic glimpses of the world-famous shoreline. No previous knowledge of parasailing is required. The entire excursion takes about 45 minutes, which includes the boat trip out and back. Single flights last about 8 minutes; customers can team up with Groupon-bearing friends for a tandem flight, which will keep them floating for 14–16 minutes. Pack your camera if you want a friend to snap pictures of your airborne antics. Ferry customers receive free shuttle service to and from the boat.
