Staffed entirely by DMV–certified instructors, Oregon Driver Education Center has been filling potholes in the knowledge of novice and experienced drivers since 1987. The center's masters of the open road send teens and adults on the path to earning their driver's licenses and maintaining clean driving records with comprehensive DMV drive test prep courses and defense driving classes. With an intimate understanding of the unique challenges facing Oregonian motorists, ODEC also offers an Xtreme Driver Control course that focuses on navigating vehicles through rain, ice, and throngs of rabid snowmen. Additionally, the center's specialty courses teach precautionary practices to medically at-risk drivers.
The three Oregon Athletic Clubs welcome members into an oasis of healthy living, each developed to encourage those aspiring to wellness to reach their fitness goals. In addition to cardio and weight equipment for solo workouts, personal trainers tailor workouts to meet individual goals and lead group yoga and Pilates sessions to strengthen and flex physiques. As parents pedal into shape in the cycling studio or unwind at the onsite spa, kids can caper about or discuss their investment portfolios in the childcare center.
At each location, patrons can practice not drowning in the indoor pools and then retire to relaxation at the locker-room saunas. The Hawthorn Farm Athletic Club invites members to splash into the outdoor pool and lounge on the lawn and patio. To refuel for the day’s cartwheel quota, the clubs’ restaurants dish up light fare including salads and paninis.
Following the rally, students will engage in a variety of activities designed to support students at Roosevelt in their pursuit of higher education and teach the university students about leadership through service. Service projects will beautify the community with landscaping, cleaning, collecting oral histories, and organizing library resources. Participants will also encourage students with a College is Possible campaign, assembling care packages for the school’s alumni who are currently in college and creating college tip sheets. Oregon Campus Compact needs additional funding to host meetings where students will coordinate the events and supplies for the events, including power washers, paint, rags, and snacks for volunteers.
