  • Beard's Framing (Old)
When it was founded in 1987, Frame Central was a social hub for artists, and was even curiously named for facial hair. However, Beard Outlet has since morphed into a seven-location franchise, dedicated to simplifying the framing process. The shops’ onsite stock of matboard, frame moulding, and other key supplies ensures speedy DIY framing projects—which visitors can complete in an hour—and single-day professional framing. An array of pre-framed mirrors and artwork allows shoppers to enhance their blank walls without taping a napping friend to them. Shoppers can also stock up on framing supplies such as case glass and hanging hardware.

  • Satin Studios
The all-female team behind Satin Studios snaps steamy boudoir photos for clients to share with their significant others within a posh downtown studio. In Satin Studio's spa-like environment, photographers and staff pamper clients to help them feel comfortable and at ease. If clients choose, a resident stylist can provide expert hairstyling and makeup application. Once primped, subjects work with photographers who help bring out their flirtatious side, snapping pictures at angles that flatter the subject's body shape in a variety of themes including retro pinup, soft and romantic, classic black and white, or fun, storytelling looks such as sexy cowgirl or sultry nurse. Aside from boudoir photography, the team also performs bridal, glamour, pinup, and burlesque photo shoots.

  • Street Roots
Street Roots lends the homeless community a voice, showcasing contributors' original stories, poems, and artwork. Through its publication, more than 300 homeless and low-income vendors are given the chance to earn a daily income and improve their self-sufficiency. Each newspaper sells for $1, with the individual vendor keeping $0.75 of each dollar earned. Vendors traverse the Portland area, providing them greater chances to sell their stock and exposing more readers to the alternative newspaper.
