Under the guidance of experienced cyclists with spellbinding quadriceps, you'll gleefully glide atop a 21-speed hybrid all-terrain bicycle as you soak in stellar views of the City by the Sea. Tour itineraries are flexible enough to accommodate the abilities and desires of each group of riders, but tours often pass through the scenic Sachuest Point National Wildlife Preserve, Norman’s Bird Sanctuary, downtown Newport, and Bellevue Avenue's row of historic mansions without the crippling financial risk of landing on Park Place. The pace of pedaling is determined by each group, with complete roundabouts ranging between one and two hours in length and traversing anywhere from 5 to 20 miles of land. At the time of your tour, you may choose to upgrade to a two-hour journey for an additional $15 charge.

The Newport Summer Jam 2011, a benefit concert for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, invigorates concertgoers with a lineup of notable blues and jazz performances along the Newport waterfront. Jazz wunderkind Grace Kelly—a 19-year-old alto saxophonist, singer, and composer whose musical prowess has garnered praise from Wynton Marsalis and NPR—kicks off the night with an energy-drenched set wrought with proficient playing and living, sentient brass. Blues legends James Montgomery, a harmonica virtuoso known for recording with Kid Rock and sitting in with Gregg Allman, and Duke Robillard, a guitarist recognized for his work with Bob Dylan and Tom Waits, join Kelly onstage for a group jam session applied liberally to huge slices of toast.
