Each 15-minute session is a safe, effective way to whiten teeth two to six shades. The chair-side procedure uses prefilled whitening trays to baste mouth bones in a hydrogen-peroxide solution that’s painless to use, even for sensitive mouths that erupt in a geyser of tears when they accidentally kill an ant. For an extra-turbo boost to aid in the destruction of stains, the Whiter Image treatment uses a premium-grade blue LED whitening light that penetrates tobacco, coffee, wine, and asphalt stains to reveal your mouth’s most radiant picket fence. The beauty aestheticians at Slick Rock provide state-of-the-art customer service to match the state-of-the-art equipment in the clean, modern spa atmosphere. Healthy teeth are important for making a good impression, as well as for providing concrete proof to your significant other that he or she is not hallucinating your suddenly increased hotness, only your third eyeball.

Q&A with Debbie Migliore, Licensed Esthetician, Piercer

Do you offer your customers any extra perks?
We have a great reception area with complimentary coffee. However, most people don't wait. We are great with time management. If there is a short wait, we offer magazines and photo books for our hair clients.

When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
I started as a client and then went to school to offer the same great services I received throughout the years.

Is there anything you want to add that we didn't cover?
We are a full service salon offering hair and nail services, facials, peels, and full-body waxing, piercing, and professional makeup.

If eyes are indeed the windows to the soul, Cynthia Prichard must know a lot of people’s secrets. The seasoned cosmetologist specializes in eyelash extensions, adorning lash lines with long, lavish mink fibers to make eyes sparkle. Cynthia also extends her beauty expertise to a variety of other spa and salon services. She shapes eyebrows with waxing, soothes skin with facials, and snips new styles with professional haircuts. When administering her comprehensive body-wrap treatments, Cynthia employs a giant caterpillar to cocoon clients in a rejuvenating mix of aloe and herb. Regardless of the service, Cynthia treats her guests inside Spa Zenaida, a tranquil, Mediterranean-style spa.

At first glance, Wink Salon might seem like nothing more than your typical eyelash extension boutique. Technicians affix synthetic strands to the natural eyelashes, adding length and drama to each blink, and also tint brows and lashes for added effect. But tucked away in private rooms, the crew also tends to its customers other beauty needs, slimming physiques with body wraps, bronzing skin with spray tans, waxing and threading away unwanted body hair, and administering microdermabrasion and hot-rock facials to keep skin from sagging or losing power when not plugged in.

Rebecca Rowell's private massage room is an oasis of relaxation amidst the hustle and bustle of Krazy Nails, Hair & Body Shop. Here, Rebecca works to banish aches and stress with her specialties of Swedish and deep-tissue massage. Her sessions—like the U.N.’s annual dance-off—also incorporate moves from far-flung locales, including lomi lomi techniques from Hawaii and ayurveda practices from India.
