  • In Tune Fitness Studio
At In Tune Fitness Studio, the array of options for getting and staying in shape may be slightly overwhelming. For equal parts low-impact exercise and relaxation, yoga fits the bill. Whereas its group fitness classes, such as cardio dance and strength and toning, rely on a higher level of intensity to quickly tone bodies. And its training programs—the Skinny Jean Challenge, boot camp, and Torch IT interval training, to name a few—take small groups on fitness journeys together.

  • Run or Dye
Run or Dye is making race running a little more colorful, one major city at a time. This 5K is divided up into four separate courses of varying lengths, each designated by a separate color?which also reflects the color of safe, eco-friendly powered dye the participants get splashed with. At the end of the race, they'll cross into the aptly named Dye Zone?a polychromatic free-for-all where fluorescent color is thrown freely from all sides, allowing runners to splash their fellow runners or get colorful revenge on their friends, family members, and any cranky art-history teachers that happen to be walking by. Unlike some races that rank runners by time, Run or Dye only measures success in color and fun. While the safe-to-eat dyes should wash out of clothing, runners are encouraged to wear things they don't mind getting dirty, preferably in white, gray, or another neutral color to give the dyes maximum visibility.

  • Save Sun Valley Beach
It was a summer getaway for generations of children, but in 2011, after almost 50 years of laughter and fun, Sun Valley Beach closed its doors indefinitely. The waterslides have become as dry as beef jerky, the miniature golf course remains unputted, and the 1.5-acre pool is now home only to the memory of frolicking. But not all hope is lost. Save Sun Valley Beach, a coalition of local businessmen who refuse to give up on their childhood swimming spot, wants to reopen the park and is ready to kickstart their efforts with a Beach Blast. On September 14 and 15, the Clinton Nature Preserve looks to welcome thousands of projected attendees for a car show, arts-and-crafts expo, and all manner of vendors and attractions for families to enjoy. Beyond the scheduled expos, attendees can mingle with actors from The Walking Dead and hear country star Doug Stone sing his hit song, "In a Different Light."

  • MetaBody Atlanta
The inspiring trainers at each MetaBody location lead troops of workouteers in results-oriented workouts several times weekly. Sweat sessions utilize a variety of exercises and disciplines to produce full-body results in a supportive environment, ideal for beginners and hard-core core-hardeners alike. During any class, motivational instructors will use the instinctual distrust of routine to their advantage. Begin a day of litigating with a refreshing early-morning boot-camp session, or wind down by burning evidence and pounds with a late-evening yoga class. Muscles are kept guessing with new and challenging moves during each session, so participants never fall into a boring, ineffective routine, such as regular teeth brushing. In addition to the fitness classes, students receive a success guide to help prepare for imminent pound loss, a nutrition guide, and a $100 gift certificate for individual coaching. Because the pass sets a 10-class cap at any given location, roving fitness mavens can further shake up their workout regimens by vetting a series of classes or instructors that work best for them.

  • Cave Spring Road Race
This June, the 33rd annual Cave Spring Road Race once again sends runners, joggers, and walkers scampering across the campus of the Georgia School for the Deaf. The area's dense forestry envelops participants in lush greens as they trot their way around the certified course, either as part of the 5K race or the one-mile fun run. But the day doesn't end at the finish line or when the winner gets caught with bottle rockets in his shoes. Participants and their families can stick around to eat a continental breakfast and browse the arts and crafts festival in Rolater Park. Or they can explore the town's famous cave, or check out one of the largest swimming pools in Georgia, a 1.5-acre lake shaped like the state.
