Inside a vibrantly lit ballroom, the names of two newlyweds glow in big, cursive letters on the dance floor. The venue, an expansive space with arched ceilings and ornate chandeliers, is no doubt a popular spot for wedding ceremonies, but Majestic Entertainment’s team has gone above and beyond to make the space unique to the bride and groom.
This quest to personalize each event is what fuels the decisions of Majestic Entertainment’s photographers, videographers, DJs, emcees, and lighting technicians. Their services include live music, photography, and lighting design and were awarded WeddingWire’s Bride’s Choice award in 2011, 2012, and 2013.
Tucked alongside the Assunpink Creek, Trenton's Mill Hill neighborhood houses brick-faced 19th century homes and their lush gardens within a cozy 10-block area. For more than 200 years, residents of the historic neighborhood have taken pride in cultivating their scenic community. Each year, local homeowners open up their yards so that visitors can peek into their diminutive urban gardens. The scenic tour drew the attention of CBS Philadelphia, which wrote that “between and behind these historic homes, you'll discover some of the Delaware Valley's most cleverly designed compact gardens.”
Originally from Ukraine and England, dance partners Mechyslav and Gemma were selected to represent the United States at the 2012 WDSF World Championships in Australia. The talented dancers are just two of Joy2Dance's skilled instructors, who teach social and competitive dance in standard and American styles.
Students learn how to sassily swivel their hips during salsa and bachata classes, sweep gracefully across the floor during ballroom classes, and bust a move during hustle and swing classes. Meanwhile, private dance lessons help couples impress the guests at their weddings.
Father-and-son team Ken and Terry Sweeney founded Sweeney's in 1985 to fortify sports fans and unaffiliated revelers with family hospitality and hearty pub eats. Like visiting foreign dignitaries, wings arrive smothered in one of eight zesty sauces and sampler platters designed for digital delectation bear chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers, pizza fingers, and onion rings. Eight Philly-steak sandwiches sport tender slices of beef and chicken alongside oven-warmed jewels such as a roast-chicken grinder stacked with bacon and swiss cheese on crisp garlic toast. A pair of house-made broiled crab cakes steps out on dinner platters with potatoes draped in parsley and the vegetable of the day carved to comment on that day's newspaper headlines.
