The lights in the warm pub burn brightly, as local musicians jaunt onto the stage to enthusiastic applause. Servers raise their voices to be heard over the twang of guitar and the terrified screams of the drums, taking orders for pizzas and pitchers of beer. Between decimating plates of nachos or cheering at the end of the band’s set, guests engage in a little friendly competition at the pool tables. For warriors ready to put their skills to use, he oversees self-defense classes and sparring in safe and guided sessions. During pole fitness classes, she uses her spacious studio to teach students the moves and how to improvise using any nearby lampposts. Kiai also hosts zumba classes three days a week.
Since 1957, Daffodil Bowl has been a fun, safe atmosphere for bowlers to while away the day and night. Families and friends gather amongst its 24 glossy lanes to send pins a-clattering, with bumpers available for kids still learning how to keep their balls out of the gutter or parents who aren't that great at bowling.
