The instructors and staff members at Peninsula School of Performing Arts all share a common goal: teaching students the art of dance. Children and adults alike flock to their studio, eager to learn dance styles ranging from classical ballet to tap, jazz, and hip-hop steps. More advanced dancers can even find placement––not to mention another creative outlet––on one of the school's dance companies.
Romance and Dance Pole Aerobics welcomes women of every age, build, and fitness level to their studio, where 15 poles comprise a stage for empowering twirls. Each instructor strives to spark new self-confidence in the students through pole and chair dance as well as workout classes, which impart techniques from booty isolations to handstands. Private parties held onsite or at area homes teach small groups to channel seemingly weightless wiles. On alternating months, celebrity pole instructors captain specialized workshops, highlighting new tricks, such as how to make phone calls with your stiletto.

In his half-century-long career as a dance instructor, Lou Schreiber has taught more than 50,000 students the art of turning heads on the ballroom floor. His passion for acquainting students with their inner sense of rhythm led to a position as master trainer of dance instructors during an eight-year stint at Arthur Murray Dance Studios, after which Lou launched his own dance school: Walk In Dance Out. From his school's three locations, he leads students in waltz, swing, Latin, and disco styles with boundless energy and humor, channeling the expertise that has served him well at national competitions and spinning contests against the earth itself.
Lou's step-by-step teaching methods put pupils of all ages at ease, whether they are attending group or private lessons. Other instructors might drop in to assist Lou in choreographing west coast swing performances and personalized wedding-day routines, showing brides how to use their dress's train as a cushion while they do the worm.
