Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
We believe that fitness should be fun and inspiring. We believe that every woman should be healthy and fit, full of energy and enthusiasm for life, and look and feel fantastic! We believe that in order to get fit and healthy, all you have to do is ask your body to do just a little bit more than what it?s accustomed to doing, regardless of your current shape, size, age or ability. Adventure Boot Camp provides workouts that foster fun, support, community, accountability, inspiration, and teaches women how to look, feel, and perform their best in life.
Do you believe in the maxim, "No pain, no gain?? Why or why not?
I do not. In fact, I think in the context of today?s ?box? gyms, pushing intensity beyond capability, is completely stupid and entirely unnecessary. Does that mean exercise is easy? Of course not. Exercise must be smart in that it meets the participant at her level, and it progresses at her pace, based on her unique characteristics. Because the opposite is true too. The same ole routine, day in and day out, leads to stagnation, boredom, and no results. There?s a fine balance between exercise that is too hard, and workouts that are too easy in that they are a waste of time. Adventure Boot Camp has perfected that balance, we call the sweet spot in fitness.
Besides working out, what else can clients do to spend their time at your facility?
Clients come to our facility for workouts that are fun. They come to our facility for leading edge education on fitness, health, and nutrition. And they build lifetime relationships within our community.

My approach to fitness has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, and I have been honored as one of the nation?s top 50 personal trainers by the American Association of Personal Trainers. I have been a local media consultant in the area of health and fitness for the past 8 years.
Donning their whitest T-shirts, The Cincinnati Color Palooza participants gather for a 3-mile fun run through downtown Cincinnati, during which they’ll be doused in a rainbow of nontoxic powdered hues cast into the air by enthusiastic volunteers. At the end of the run, competitors are granted their own colored powders to lob at friends, race organizers, and black-and-white television sets sitting in their attics. Runners are encouraged to keep the celebration going at the nearby Cincinnati Pride festival in Sawyer Point Park, where there will be beer, live music, and family activities. Those looking to run for a good cause can create a fundraising page for Color Palooza’s charity partner, Susan G. Komen Greater Cincinnati Association for the Cure, which helps in the fight against breast cancer. The The Cincinnati Color Palooza is free for children 7 and younger.
The Urban Dare Adventure Race is a fast-paced competition that challenges two-person teams to decipher clues, navigate the city, and perform playful stunts. Combining the bustle of a track meet with the brain-taxing sleuth work of a luge competition, the race uses a dozen trivia-based clues to lead contestants to checkpoints all over their sprawling metropolis. Location hunters reach their checkpoints by whatever means necessary, be it hopping a bus downtown, flying madly through a network of secret ziplines, or scuba-diving in a fountain for bus fare. At the mini destinations, racers must use a camera to document their presence or, in some cases, get their passports stamped after completing challenges that may include a climbing wall or solving a riddle.
For this 5K race, a normally tame park or other venue is transformed into Mean Streets, an urban-themed obstacle course. In the Construction Zone, participants navigate over and under traffic barriers of different heights followed by a dive into a trash-filled dumpster. After bypassing the dumpster zone, runners test their stamina as cat burglars, scrambling through first-floor windows and trespassing through backyards. They barely touch ground before scaling upward once again on the Time-to-Climb portion of the course, which features a Jason Bourne-esque run across the rooftops. Finally, contestants climb out a window and onto the fire escape, swinging across an 8-foot ladder to reach the finish.
Finding a babysitter is one thing that mothers don’t have to do in order to attend Stroller Strong’s fitness classes. That’s because children are always welcome at classes—in fact, the sessions are based around the act of pushing kids in strollers. Inside Leblond Recreation Center or outdoors at Ault Park, groups convene to burn calories and tone muscles behind the rolling wheels of their child’s buggy. Afterward, they spend 10 minutes working out abdominal muscles while kids play with the studio’s toys.
Every day at ELMNTL Fitness is different. Workouts that change daily keep participants engaged while also challenging different areas of the body, so as to safely build muscle and shed pounds without over-exerting specific physical zones. The program's functional exercises are based on everyday movements, to help condition the body to prevent injury and burn calories.
