We are a multi-generational award winning family farm raising a diverse array of livestock. We market all of our own naturally farm raised hormone and antibiotic free meats in our butcher shop, and serve them to customers in our cafe. We feature beef, Berkshire pork, goat, lamb, chicken and rabbit. We raise real, good food.
As a professional dancer, Jonathan Kane consistently turned to tea when he needed help summoning stamina for his routines. These days, he channels that same passion into his shop, The Naked Leaf. Here, he dispenses a range of organic teas that are imported from around the world and free of preservatives and artificial flavours, and he even keeps free samples on hand for visitors to taste test. He also encourages his customers to decorate their tea canisters with customized labels crafted from their own art, photos, and text.
When he's not espousing the benefits of tea, Jonathan dedicates his time to supporting the creativity of his community. Each canister of tea he sells is plastered with a limited-edition label that showcases artwork from locals, whose pieces adorn the shop. The Naked Leaf also stocks handmade tea ware from local artisans, locally made chocolates, and tea leaves harvested from local caffeine trees.
A 2010 winner of the Calgary Choice awards for Best in Children’s Retail, Coffee & S’cream invites parents and kids alike to mingle and unwind in a shop that’s equal parts coffeehouse and playland. In the latter, colourful paintings of puzzle pieces dance across murals on the walls, echoing the soft mats that fit together to cover the floor, as pint-sized patrons slither down slides, pilot toy cars, and instill a working communist utopia within 30 seconds of playing. Meanwhile, adults sip smoothies or lattes from the coffee shop, whose menu of sandwiches, soups, and 27 flavours of ice cream keeps visitors of all ages sated.
Inside a family-friendly dining room or amid a lively atmosphere filled with jukebox beats and the triumphant exclamations of kids scoring a point in a sports arcade game, diners devour bites of Dover Pizza Steak House & Lounge's Italian fare, including pizza, pasta, steak, and seafood. Sports fans catch the game on the lounge's HD TVs and chow down on an order of honey-garlic dry ribs, revelling in $0.25 wings on Monday and Wednesday. Every second Friday, the lounge hosts karaoke night and helps crooners forget their attempts to sing Beethoven's Third Symphony with Kahlua root beers and margaritas.
Cold Stone’s ice cream, made in-store daily, inhabits a quantum flux between soft-serve and traditional ice cream, with a rich, creamy texture that whispers tales of its super-premium quality as it glides over taste buds. Ice-cream voyeurs can create their own ice-creamplosion from old favourites or unheard of delights ($2.89–$4.59 with two mix-ins), eliciting taste tests of dozens of silky flavours such as cake batter, cotton candy, and piñata. Each ice-cream creation generously welcomes up to two of the shop's dozens of mix-ins as traditional as Oreo cookies and chopped nuts or as quirky as pie crust. Those willing to bequeath the invention of creamy concoctions to the professionals can try a Cold Stone Signature creation, such as the almond-studded and caramel-slathered Coffee Lovers Only or the Peanut Butter Cup Perfection with Reese's peanut-butter cups, fudge, and a side of endorphins ($3.99–$5.75). Once concoctions are chosen and perfected, they're scooped cold into freshly made waffle cones or bowls.
