DeeDee Black's love of hair began as a child, when she spent many happy hours playing with her grandmother's wig and styling it into different looks. DeeDee went on to attend cosmetology school and has used her degree, creativity, and passion for hair in her role as a production stylist for media, print, and fashion shows. In addition to her hometown of New York City, she's worked across the country in fashion-forward cities such as Miami and LA. She also has shared her knowledge by working as a hairstyling instructor for Make-Up Designory and an instructor for Dallas Academy of Hair Extensions. Today, as a certified Athena Hair Extensions specialist, DeeDee elongates and enhances clients' looks with extensions, Brazilian knots, microlink, and clip-ins.
Tracey Butterfly Clark, the owner and head healer at Mariposas Garden, wants to make every service at her soothing studio an experience to remember. Against a backdrop of Buddhas, mirrors, and butterflies, Tracey offers multiple types of massage therapy, from Swedish and hot stone modalities to deep-tissue, prenatal, and Thai bodywork. Along with massage, clients might enjoy the luxurious chocolate facial, which uses a cacao bean scrub to exfoliate the skin—it's the number one facial in the world according to Willy Wonka.
Ever since the mid-nineties, Tammy Fleming has been keeping strands in line with her swift styling justice. In the comfort of her own Salons of Dallas suite, Tammy can craft a bold scissor cut, execute a pitch-perfect traditional cut, engineer jazzy color highlights, or tame unwieldy frizz with a specialty keratin straightening treatment. Clients may also solicit the expertise of one of the other Salons of Dallas suites for beauty services ranging from facial waxing to massage therapy to eyebrow braiding.
In a charming, Victorian–style building, staffers blast away unwanted tattoos, encroaching toe fungus, and skin blemishes such as age spots and stretch marks using state of the art Nd:Yag Q-switched lasers. During free consultations, certified laser technicians assess the proper course of treatment, discuss any medical concerns, and answer the question of whether lasers can remove wine stains from clothing. In addition to wielding lasers, technicians also harness ultrasound technology to fend off cellulite, and they knead the abdomen using chi nei tsang, a specialized massage meant to stimulate the lymphatic and circulatory systems.
