Together, the KAF Adventures guides are dedicated to helping others experience the thrills of climbing, mountaineering, ice climbing, and other outdoor escapades. Whether they're teaching beginners to rock climb during group lessons, imparting lifelong skills as private mountaineering guides, or leading international climbing trips, the guides help their students learn new skills and appreciate their surrounding environment. Yoga and backpacking hikes introduce hikers to wilderness vistas as they learn to channel their own breathing, and backcountry skiing and boarding guidance readies students to hit the slopes or speed through snowy department-store displays.
Wayne and Sarah Wheller first got the inspiration for Redmond Ridge Winery from a tasting room across the Canadian border, where they repeatedly inspired themselves with glasses of Chardonnay. In the ensuing years, Wayne would look to his South African heritage for insight into crafting vintages, combining them with the flavors and resources of the Northwest. The resultant creations are now poured into glasses or over the heads of true oenophiles in the winery's downtown tasting room, where reclaimed casks act as tables and rows of obsidian bottles line the shelves.

How is your approach different than that of other professionals in your field?
We teach photography using hands-on instruction in a small intimate group [that feels] more like a book club than a class room. We keep our class sizes around six students and teach at different wineries in Woodinville. Not only do you get hands-on photography instruction, but you get to taste great Washington wines while you learn.
What's one tip for first-time customers that will make them feel like regulars?
Relax and enjoy the experience. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Even if they are the same questions over and over. Cork & Click classes are about having fun and truly learning how to use your camera to catch that moment.
When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
Christiana, the instructor, has had a passion for photography for over 15 years. Initially learning photography was a challenge, and she wished there was a class like this when she was learning. Now that she is a professional photographer, she teaches photography the way she learned and loves to empower people to understand their camera so that they can capture [moments].
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Christiana has a passion for teaching photography. She has been teaching at the Wineries in Woodinville for over two years and has 100% positive feedback from customers. Christiana's approach to teaching is very relaxed with lessons and exercises that are easy to understand and can be used after the class to continue to learn and become a better photographer.

Sky River Meadery turns honey into wine, or mead to be exact. Since 1997, the meadery has produced its own award-winning blends of mead, a fermented-honey beverage that has been lauded for centuries for its subtly sweet taste. Thought to bring strength, wit, and poetry, Mead was the drink of many ancient kings and poets. Sky River, which is owned and operated by women, introduces guests to its meads in a large onsite tasting room. There, customers can experience the sweet, dry, and raspberry-enhanced meads, finished with a touch of berries, apples, and grassy notes, which pair well with curries, ginger, and salsas.
Sky River Meadery also showcases local art in its gallery space, offers other bee products?including candles and honey?and encourages picnicking among the gardens and display bee hives.
