Greensboro Tennis Program spreads the gospel of competitive racket flailing by maintaining the courts and stewarding lessons, clinics, and tournament play over seven Greensboro tennis sites. Its staff of tennis masters presides over a thriving junior development program with more than 70 young baseliners that have a North Carolina State ranking, which can be attributed to instructors' success in teaching proper stroke technique, footwork, and changeover intimidation tactics. Claytor Lake Water Sports' fleet of rental boats and water equipment lets customers float, relax, and play amid the local wildlife and camera-ready sights of Claytor Lake. Canoes, kayaks, and motorized vessels such as pontoon boats snake along the lake's 21 miles of narrow and winding waterways, where spotted bass swim and test scuba gear beneath the surface. Flanked by lush trees, speedboats race across the water and lure adventurous riders perched atop water skis and other towables.

In addition to renting boats and gear, the staff at Claytor Lake Water Sports takes sightseers on scenic lake tours. They also maintain a commitment to the environment, equipping most of their watercrafts with electronic fuel injections and four-stroke engines that produce lower emissions and brighter rainbows.

Floating is the number-one activity at this small-town fitness center, which boasts three pools. A two-story water slide ushers guests into the leisure pool via three slick loops, and a zero-depth beach entry lets them ease into the water at their own pace without getting drenched. Guests can hone their butterfly strokes in four 20-yard lap lanes or existentially ponder the nature of water in the deep end, which is heated to 86 degrees. Visitors may also dive into an Olympic–size competition pool from 5-, 7.5- and 10-meter platforms, then speed through 9-foot lanes. Those with sore joints can ease into the therapy pool, which pampers sore joints with soothing 94-degree water.

Swimmer-specific fitness equipment fills a nearby cardio room, where Vasa trainers help guests to perfect front crawls and backstrokes with body-weight exercises. Treadmills, ellipticals, and recumbent bikes bolster cross-training regimens, along with Magnum strength trainers designed to tone the entire body. The facility also boasts a wet classroom that hosts scuba trainings, a kitchen, and shower-equipped locker rooms.

Drawing from the more frightening pages of the area's history, Carolina History & Haunts’ guides lead lantern-lit tours of eerie and haunted locales. The “Nightmares Around Elm Street” tour sends groups through the specter-laden streets of Greensboro, while the Beyond the Grave tour braves uptown Charlotte’s paranormal avenues to learn the fates of the less fortunate and possibly even witness a prankster ghost grabbing a dog's tail as it's chased.

Carolina History & Haunts partners with local businesses to give tour goers discounts on accommodations and food, and large groups are eligible for discounted pricing and private tours.

The Piedmont Family Fun Fest, which spreads out across Proehlific Park's 22 acres, is divided into five themed sections. At Music City, guests enjoy the musical styling of the band Big Bang Boom, as well as other live music acts every hour and ogle an array of instruments at the instrument petting zoo. At Circus Town visitors can mingle with resident clowns and face painters and take a quick lesson in circus arts such as juggling plates and performing acrobatic skills.

Meanwhile, Sports World houses the Greensboro Grasshopper mascot, an obstacle course, and a rock-climbing wall, as well as areas where visitors can try their hand at sporty games that incorporate softball, football, golf, and soccer. In a separate area of the park, guests escape to another realm at Fantasy Land, replete with fairies, pirates, dragons, a light-saber display, and a puppet show. Finally, Toys for Big Boys features a display of Italian cars, including Lamborghinis and a giant meatball with wheels, as well as boats and motorcycles.

Triangle Rock Club's, awarded with the 2013 Pinnacle Business Award, state-of-the-art facility houses more than 9,000 square feet of expertly crafted terrain with upward of 100 routes. During small-size classes, drop-in sessions, and rock-climbing camps, novice and seasoned climbers scale freestanding boulders, dodging manmade obstacles while gripping the wall's slanted surface. Founded by two former Marines, Triangle Rock Club offers customers a large fitness center where guests can complement climbing's full-body workout with weights, kettlebells, squat racks, and spontaneous arm-wrestling matches. Other amenities include a climate-controlled interior and a lounge with WiFi and an HDTV.
