For the past 50 years, lodging luxury resort Plantation on Crystal River has resided on 232 acres of lush preserve land, between the Nature Coast of Florida and the Gulf of Mexico. Surrounded by natural springs stemming from King's Bay, the grounds brim with exotic wildlife such as osprey, grey-horned owls, and 400 migratory West Indian manatees that—like water wings that have not yet molted—people can swim with on a seasonal basis.

Nestled on these verdant grounds, the eco-friendly institution The Spa at Plantation pampers and relaxes frames with services powered by botanical Aveda products. Patrons settle into salon chairs for cuts and color or relax as Vichy showers gently flow over their backs during body treatments. The onsite massage therapist kneads away tension while balancing chakras or places hot stones on limbs.

The Spa’s decor evokes the French countryside, surrounding a savvy staff as they assist patrons in reaching personal cosmetic goals. In private treatment rooms throughout the 4,000-square-foot sanctuary, music rolls from speakers, calming guests and scaring away feral jazz quartets with the sounds of full symphonies. Patrons revel in stress-banishing massage therapies, see fuzzy patches evicted with laser hair-removal treatments, or undergo nourishing facial treatments at the hands of the aestheticians.

Also known as Swedish massage, Soleus Spa's relaxation massage simultaneously calms the body and encourages it to heal itself. The spa's seasoned therapists perform services like this in one of four private therapy rooms, each of which is beautifully decorated and completely free of distractions, harsh light, and cuckoo clocks. In addition to relaxing treatments, the staff specializes in sugar scrubs and face massages.

By addressing the whole body rather than just a tense back, a stiff elbow, or a super bratty shoulder blade, Holistic Healthcare Choices owner and licensed massage therapist Drew Clark can tackle a plethora of corporeal issues at their bodily roots. Natural light floods into his minimalist studio, where he performs a repertoire of rejuvenating massage modalities.

Upon graduating from the Professional Massage Training Center with a license to knead, Donny Bryant joined forces with personal trainer Tammy Eaton, owner of Git Fit Headquarters. After a season of soothing Git Fit clients, Donny’s skillful hands now provide relief during clinic hours at Strong Gym. When he isn’t working on his own turf, he brings his massage techniques to homes, hotels, offices, and heated conversations. He also travels with the Missouri Sports Massage Team, helping athletes prepare for and recover from marathons, triathlons, and bike races with compression and cross-fiber techniques. In an effort to support the community, Donny offers his services to local and statewide nonprofit agencies.
