At Fit Lifestyle Studios and Move Fitness, dedicated instructors impart knowledge during spinning, Pilates, dance, and other group fitness classes to shed pounds and improve cardiovascular health. During spinning classes, a small class size of no more than 18 students ensures individual attention from the instructors, who have all received certification from Mad Dogg Athletics. Students of all levels may attend spinning classes with full water bottles in hand, sparing them the trouble of biking to nearby creeks or fire stations. To get the most out of each 45-minute class, students are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes early to meet and greet their stationary steed.
One size doesn’t fit all at FrantzWorld Gym. Rather than going it alone, exercisers join forces with trainers who draw up personalized workout plans tailored to each client’s envisioned results. They also lay out nutritional goals that facilitate bodily changes, such as dead-lifting each bushel of apples before you place them in your grocery cart.
Beantown Bootcamp's talented trainers help tone bodies of all fitness levels via an assortment of pudge-purging group exercise classes. Attendees can choose from four types of drop-in sessions, broken down into cardio, strength, full-body conditioning (20/20/20), and calorie-burning training styles.
Before becoming owner and head trainer at Sityodtong Muay Thai Academy, Mark DellaGrotte spent a decade in Thailand, training under muay thai guru Kru Yodtong and competing in high-profile bouts. His experience transformed him into a formidable muay thai kickboxer, earning him spots on several TV shows including Spike TV's The Ultimate Fighter and UFC Countdown. However, it also made him an expert ambassador for Thai-style boxing. Today, Mark and his team of instructors foster fight-ready fitness with classes in muay thai, Brazilian jujitsu, mixed martial arts, and boxing.
As natural light streams through the windows, members at Fisique Fitness run on treadmills equipped with their own screens, take to Cybex elliptical machines, and make the rounds on strength-training equipment. In group exercise classes, instructors lead cardio-centric spinning workouts or model mindful breathing during Vinyasa yoga's flow of poses. Dedicated personal trainers take things up a notch, pushing their clients past a plateau or preparing them for the arm-wrestling portion of a corporate job interview. After workouts, members can hit the showers equipped with convenient toiletries or plunk down on one of the lobby’s leather armchairs.
In addition to providing chiropractic treatments and physical-therapy sessions, Fisique Fitness partners with Joint Ventures to offer a menu of spa services that includes massage and acupuncture.
