Farming is a family tradition for the Confredas, and has been since 1922. For nearly a century, they've tended a 400-acre plot of land in Cranston and Warwick, first cultivating vegetables, then expanding over the years to incorporate 160 varieties of annuals and 75 varieties of hanging baskets. In 1997, third-generation owner Vinny Confreda opened Confreda Greenhouses & Farms to the public, hoping to give New Englanders easy access to fresh, local produce and plants, and give them an opportunity to see what it's like to live and work on a real country farm.

Besides selling heirloom vegetables and lush flowers, Confreda farms is also host to a wide range of fun activities and events throughout the year. An annual fall festival treats visitors to free hayrides, a pumpkin patch, and an all-ages corn maze, as well as spooky thrills after dark, when the farm becomes overrun with werewolves, zombies, and the most terrifying creatures of all: amateur actors.

As the days begin to wane and the trees' green leaves start to turn, Clark Farms celebrates the arrival of autumn by hosting its annual fall festival. The friendly farmhands welcome in guests of all ages for themed activities, which allow them to savor the season while experiencing a small taste of New England countryside life. Visitors can navigate the corn maze's labyrinth of towering stalks and direction-savvy scarecrows, or satisfy a need for speed with a zip down a 30-foot slide or lap around a professionally designed go-kart track. Clark Farms also encourages adults and kids to learn about farm life by taking a hayride around the grounds, touring the pumpkin patch, or visiting the petting zoo's resident quadrupeds and bipeds. When the sun sets and the weather turns crisp, the staff keeps crowds cozy by selling warm treats—including fresh donuts and apple cider—and by building roaring bonfires.

Without having to finish each service by muttering, "Hasta la vista, baby," and riding off on a motorcycle, the Mosquito Terminators leave a lasting impression on homeowners by liberating backyards from pesky disturbances. Armed with a natural-based organic solution that is safe for families and pets, the company's assassins spritz exterior spaces with treatments that kill and repel mosquitoes.. Barrier sprays work around the clock and, prior to outdoor gatherings such as barbecues and pool parties, hosts can utilize event sprays so guests aren't constantly swatting the air or forced to roast marshmallows over citronella candles.
