Instructors Dean Broga, Bill Price, and Jeff Dowdy are serious about aikido. At Richmond Aikido Kai, they only teach students aged 14 or older, and they feel pride in passing down the techniques of the ancient art form. Together, they share about 100 years of experience.
When two brothers were witness to domestic violence happening, their lives changed forever. Now that they’ve started Divas In Defense, they have put together expert teams of trainers and support staff in several states and in Mexico, all of whom share a passion for female empowerment and safety. Clients, on their quest for self-empowerment, train under expert instructors who lead women and girls aged 7 and older through self-defense classes while teaching them situational awareness, strikes, and de-arming moves while building their strength and stamina.
Grandmaster Y.K. Kim’s whirlwind life has taken him from Korea to the United States while wearing many hats including author, public speaker, philosopher, entrepreneur, and founder of Martial Arts World. The latter has grown into a family tree of locations spanning four states.
