Q&A with Medium Tracey Lockwood, Psychic Medium

What sets your business apart from your competition?
As a professional psychic medium, I tailor your reading specifically to your needs. I sense the truth about the past, present, and future. I also tap into current and near-future situations, as well as the other people in your life. I connect easily to those that have crossed to the other side. Often, I sketch as part of your reading to illustrate the symbols, energies, people, guides, and colors that I pick up in your auric field.

What was the inspiration for starting this business?
In 2010, I attended the Arthur Findlay College of Psychic Science in England, which is known as the world's premier college of mediumship. While there, three world-class mediums suggested I begin doing private readings and teaching psychic development. Until then, I'd never considered my natural gift as something other people would be interested in. It is now my utmost pleasure to offer readings and see the lives of my clients transformed.

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
I happily offer private readings by appointment only.

Enthusiastic repeat and referral business.

What’s your favorite part about your job?
Seeing fear and worry disappear from the faces of my clients as their confidence and peace is restored.

Q&A with Erica Feazelle, Photographer/owner

What sets your business apart from your competition?
Every session is customized. While I definitely use my creative eye and intuition, I want to achieve the look that you desire. My sessions are 100% tailored to you.

What was the inspiration for starting this business?
I always enjoyed looking at photos taken of me, my family, and my friends. I cherish those memories. I want to help others capture those same memories and tell their stories.

What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
I had a customer who wanted to have her senior photos done. She stressed several times that she had not found a photographer that she "liked" enough, but she had heard good things about me. She was a "city kitty" and did not want a standard senior session. She wanted something more high fashion. I drove her around the city and did her session in some awesome locations. It was exactly what she wanted. She told me she felt like a super model and that she was so impressed with her images and her special day. It was all about her. That's how I strive for every session to be.

What’s your favorite part about your job?
Meeting new people. I love to make new friends and to help those friends capture their special memories. When you make someone feel special, they will return and you can help them and be an intricate part of helping tell their stories year after year.

True to its name, Sparrow Bee's Therapies started out as an outpost for all things beekeeping in 2008. However, its mission has expanded to all arenas of holistic health—the staff now treats human musculature along with black-and-yellow exoskeletons. The team makes use of Swedish and Thai massage techniques to induce relaxation and help clients manage stress levels. The studio augments the staffers' skills with a warm and comfortable environment capable of putting guests at ease.

The quality products at Roanoke Natural Foods Co-op do more than nourish bodies—they also nourish the local community. The store's shelves and coolers feature vegetables grown without synthetic insecticides, humanely raised meats, organic dairy products, and farm-fresh eggs. It's all in keeping with the co-op's original mission (now in its fourth decade): provide the public with high-quality, nutritious foods, many of which are sourced from nearby farms.

Roanoke Natural Foods Co-op holds itself to the same strict standards as the farms it buys from, with an emphasis on sustainable farming practices such as efficient water usage and recycling. They even chose to invest their own time and overalls by purchasing Heritage Point Farm. The farm's 25 acres of land provides co-op shoppers with fresh salad greens, herbs, and all natural eggs.
