Visit one of The Peddler Show Tour's events, and you'll likely see some smiling faces among the other shoppers in attendance. It seems like there's nearly always someone grinning widely, having just discovered a perfect gift. It might be a necklace from Nan's Precious Pearls, a bottle of lotion from Salve All Natural Skin Care, or a tin of indulgent sweets from The Caramel Candy Co. Or maybe it's all of the above.
The Peddler Show Tour has been connecting Texan shoppers with boutique gifts and housewares for well over three decades, but the show has never been stronger than it is today, with 26 events hosted annually across the state. Even frequent shoppers can find something new on each excursion, since hundreds of different merchants and boutiques apply to participate. While many come for the clothing, jewelry, and household items, others stop by to sample gourmet foods or purchase a bed frame made of fudge.
The professional porthole purgers at Amazing 20/20 Window Cleaning blast dirt and grime from smudged see-holes throughout the Corpus Christi area. With assistance from ladders and water-fed poles, the skilled glass de-grimers are able to easily reach and clean windows of all shapes, sizes, heights, and political opinions, including double hung, arch top, and newer double pane styles.
Paintball Fixx's three outdoor fields sport a variety of bunkers and barricades that enhance any game of speedball or rec ball. Red and blue inflatable bunkers sprout up all over the air ball field, whose tight confines encourage a fast-paced game. The rec ball field, on the other hand, provides players with a little more breathing room as they stalk through tall grasses, crouch behind stacked tires, or take to the trenches found along the field's eastern edge. The Alamo field features its very own fort on the west end, though its narrower width still tends to make games move pretty quickly.
Cathy and Chuck Willd opened Pop Goes the Easel by combining their respective talents. Cathy—a painter with a talent for acrylics—blends impressionism and realism in her work, which has sold through the Thomas Kinkaid Art Gallery. Co-owner Chuck pours his musical talent into Pop Goes the Easel's TV theme song ads and also assists with classes. Chris Comeaux rounds out the team as manager and class leader, where she guides students of all ages through the creation of featured paintings that include realistic landscapes and more.
