The Classy Cookie & Deli boasts an eclectic menu befitting any occasion, from quick lunches for on-the-go eaters to excessively slow meals meant to put off the evening's grueling ticklefights. Mother and daughter team Helene Weaver and Heidi Kornrich use their familial telepathy to silently collaborate on items such as the CC Special ($5.50), a quarter pound of roast beef served on a roll with cheese, lettuce, and Russian dressing and accompanied by a cookie for dessert, or a chicken-salad sandwich ($4.25) or sub ($5.25), served with lettuce and tomato on your choice of white, wheat, rye, or pumpernickel bread. Mouth-warming hot sandwiches stoke food-fueled fires of self-actualization—make friends with the meatball sub with mozzarella ($5.25) or dig into the dijon-laced hot pastrami and swiss cheese ($5.25). After lunch, guests can calm uppity stomachs with a dozen old-fashioned cookies ($5.50) or a slice of Southern Comfort whiskey cake ($2.75/slice).
NVP Paintball houses healthy competition within 15,000 square feet of indoor arena space at the Rochester location and both indoor and outdoor fields at the Syracuse location. The turf-covered playing fields obstruct easy shots with giant inflatable obstacles. Trained refs monitor all the action, including walk-on play, private parties, and high-noon duels. Elsewhere in the facility, a pro shop vends paintball necessities and the latest gear.
When she's not wrangling her three kiddos, Rachele Maier shares her talents and experience as a pole dancer. The proud mom began practicing pole in 1991 and immediately embraced its graceful movements and tummy-toning effects. Today, she owns and operates her own pole-dancing fitness studio—Tangent's Pole Aerobics—where she draws from her years of practice and certification in fitness training to lead a variety of instructional and fitness-based classes.
Her oldest daughter's artwork speckles the walls of her spacious studio, where she leads students through pole-dancing tricks, transitions, and techniques on nine 12-foot poles. She also conducts classes in theatrical dance, lap dancing, and floor routines along the studio's hardwood floors. During her private instructional parties, she dims the lights and turns on the strobes, making students feel like they're strutting their stuff in a club or the coolest library of all time.
The chefs at Great Northern Pizza Kitchen draw upon Italian, Greek, and American culinary traditions while topping pizzas. After tossing crusts by hand, they turn to blue cheese, buffalo sauce, shredded pork, morsels of feta, and pico de gallo. Though some toppings seem adventurous, the mac 'n' cheese pizza and the potato-skin pie, a combination of bacon, sliced potatoes, and cheddar cheese, call to mind simple comfort foods. Tables clatter with plates of salads, pastas, and sandwiches in an 80-seat dining room with exactly enough spots for the 10 families cloned from the Brady Bunch.

Rusted Root is a six-member jam-centric rock band that transcends genres with influences from Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and parts of space still unidentified. With more than 3 million albums sold worldwide, Rusted Root has been crushing live shows with an energetic stage presence and incredible sound since their 1992 debut. The talented sound architects might blast eardrums with the high-paced jam "Ecstasy", soulfully bring the crowd "Back to the Earth", and perhaps even shindig on stage with the crowd favorite "Send Me on My Way", which happens to be NASA's choice as "wake-up" music for the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity.
