Vein Center of Charlotte's Dr. James Altizer lays claim to a stout resume of medical accomplishments, with decades of professional medical experience, service in the first Gulf War as a naval medical officer, and the successful completion of more than 1,200 endovenous catheter treatments for varicose veins. As a registered vascular technologist, the doctor employs a sophisticated arsenal of equipment and procedures to diagnose and treat patients. Foam sclerotherapy treatments dissipate small spider veins from the inside, and ultrasound techniques lay out a hyper-accurate map of deeper veins and gold deposits. In addition to removing unsightly hyperpigmentation from blood vessels, Vein Center of Charlotte applies its high-tech philosophy to a wide range of aesthetic procedures, from skin-smoothing laser hair removal to safe tattoo reduction and removal.

Synergy Salon owner Quy has an artist's eye when it comes to hair. Like a sculptor teasing a form from clay, stone, or mashed potatoes, she uses her tools to reveal flattering styles for any texture of hair. As the shop’s master hair designer and color specialist, she leads an accomplished team of stylists, including Aveda Institute graduates. Two sides of the same cosmetic coin, aesthetician Terri McConnell and stylist Angie Fortney united their respective talents when they opened Noma Hair & Skin Studio. In the salon, Angie customizes cuts for men, women, and children, boosting color and highlighting strands or stripping away fuzz with waxing services. In the spa, Terri begins each treatment with a consultation about her clients’ individual skin types and skincare goals, be they to reduce wrinkles, clear acne, or eliminate a permanent look of shock. Penny Wheeler always knew she was destined to be a hairstylist, and so she began taking classes while still in high school. Since then, she's built up a wall of credentials that includes a degree from the Charleston School of Beauty Culture, training from Redken, and cosmetology licenses in West Virginia, South Carolina, and New York. Her love of learning and passion for helping others reinvent themselves inspire her to seek out ongoing training in the latest techniques. Her specialties include expert cuts and coloring services, for which she favors the use of Redken Color Fusion products, as they conceal gray hairs and budding antlers.
