Signature Service: Custom Massage Established: 2014 Reservations/Appointments: Required Handicap Accessible: Yes Staff Size: 2?10 people Parking: Parking lot Minimum Age Requirement: 18 Pro Tip: Come five minutes early to fill out paperwork Q&A with Jennifer Jordan-collins, Licensed Massage Therapist Do you agree with the phrase "beauty is on the inside?" Why or why not? Absolutely. People are beautiful by how they treat others. Not how they appear. Do you use any products or brands you're particularly proud of? What makes them uniquely effective? We use cream (unless it is a hot-stone massage). This will not leave our customers feeling oily after a massage. They can go where ever they want after the appointment without having to stop at home first. What is the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a client? I had a gentleman who had surgery years ago. He had feeling in his toes, but always had a tingling sensation in them. He said that since his massage, he no longer has that feeling. Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover? Our massages are a full hour on the table. We do not take away time for paperwork or the process of getting on/off the table.

  • CovRing Day Spa
"Touch can be healing," says Donna Medley, proprietor of CovRing Day Spa. Indeed, Donna uses the word “heal” often when she talks about the events that inspired her to open the spa. Her son dealt with prolonged medical problems, and the family worked together to nurse him back to health. This, she says, pushed the long-time cosmetologist to pursue the wellness aspect of her training, and soon she'd shuttered both her Maryland salons and focused on opening CovRing Day Spa. Donna thought in terms of healing potential when designing the spa itself. The space is awash in the restorative colors of the earth, from the grass green in the mani-pedi room to the lounge painted in the same cerulean shades of the sky and naturally occurring groups of blue musicians. The healing power of olive oil infuses all of the spa's Swedish massages, facials, and mani-pedis. To Donna, the olive oil symbolizes an anointing, and because she used it when caring for her son, it recalls his healing, reminding her every day why she chose this path.
