When it was founded in 1987, Frame Central was a social hub for artists, and was even curiously named for facial hair. However, Beard Outlet has since morphed into a seven-location franchise, dedicated to simplifying the framing process. The shops’ onsite stock of matboard, frame moulding, and other key supplies ensures speedy DIY framing projects—which visitors can complete in an hour—and single-day professional framing. An array of pre-framed mirrors and artwork allows shoppers to enhance their blank walls without taping a napping friend to them. Shoppers can also stock up on framing supplies such as case glass and hanging hardware.

Modern Studio's team of experienced photographers has wrangled fleeting memories into permanent portrait form since 1952. Portrait subjects choose between a timeless studio sitting or an on-location shoot at a home, park, or hard-won parking space before photographers let fly with well-trained shutters. Photographers produce each 10"x13" family portrait within an on-site photo lab, leaving each photo dry mounted and ready for vertical application on walls or the backs of unsuspecting prank targets.

Seasoned shutterbug Daniel Troutman transfers personalities to film during laid-back portrait photography sessions. Summon Troutman to a one- to two-hour sitting at any locale within 20 miles of Jefferson, or decamp to the photographer’s 100-year-old converted-meat-locker studio, where the wooden walls and floor bathe mugs in warm, soft light. Subjects stay solo or share the frame with families and friends, and unlimited clothing changes allow for multiple looks or the reenactment of multiple scenes from A Fish Called Wanda. Postsession, subjects peruse the photos, selecting a winning shot for transmission to an 18”x12” print.

An open studio for artists of all skill levels, The Glass Fuser welcomes guests to drop in and create fused glass art anytime during open hours. No experience is necessary. Resident artists lead a series of courses that – starting with a beginner class – build on skills and explore different techniques, such as three-layer plates and glass cutting.

As a Bullseye Resource Center, The Glass Fuser also vends a wide selection of sheet and accessory glass. Artists may opt to purchase their own glass, create their own projects, and pay a firing fee. All-inclusive project packages are also available.

The experienced shutterbugs at Fairytale Creations Photography immortalize memories with a personalized, energetic feel during one-hour on-location photo sessions. Prior to each shoot, up to four subjects-to-be fill out a questionnaire to help photographers customize each session to the group’s interests and ensure they’re not ghosts. Clients then meet the photographer at a scenic location of their choice within a 30-mile radius of Eugene to engage in an hour worth of smiles, hugs, and natural poses. Afterward, clients select images for their digital and hard-copy prints, and receive a complimentary online Facebook gallery to share with friends or lonely computers. Groupon holders also receive half off digital-collection purchases and 20% off their next session (excluding weddings).

An accomplished performer and member of the Music Teachers National Association and the American Society for Composers, Authors and Publishers, instructional maestro Michael Wheeler uses his professional experience and a collaborative spirit to create individually tailored, one-on-one music lessons for students of all skill levels. Upon arriving for their first foray into song, each student will have their skills, goals, and ability to correctly pronounce "glockenspiel" evaluated, and Wheeler will use the half hour to develop a lesson plan. Lesson number two welcomes fingers to flutter across keys during piano and keyboard lessons, or unlock the traditional sounds of North India and delve into the fundamentals of sitar, dilruba, or harmonium. Together, pupil and teacher select lyrical material that's both personally exciting and age appropriate, saving teenagers from crooning "Moon River" and grandparents from an embarrassing round of "I Got Run Over by a Reindeer."
