Every two years, the United States and Europe deploy an army of their 12 best professional golfers to do battle in a team match-play format at a venue that alternates between the two sides of the Atlantic. For the 2012 Ryder Cup event, Team USA captain Davis Love III and Team Europe captain Jose Maria Olazabal will lead their teams into an intercontinental duel on the links at Medinah Country Club in Illinois. Perennial stalwarts Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods, as well as 2012 Masters Champion Bubba Watson, will headline the United States team as they try to avenge a 2010 loss to the Europeans at Celtic Manor Resort. Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy, current world number one, leads a European team attempting to build upon a recent streak that has seen them win four out of the last five Ryder Cup events and successfully complete five out of their last six human pyramids.

A Video Memories' crew still assembles montages, though its services have since expanded to include transferring film onto DVDs and assembling original commercials for local businesses.

Chefs Pina and Ed of Pina's Culinary Experience bestow their edible expertise on studious suppersmiths week after week in their elephantine kitchen and Mediterranean-style dining room. This year's third-quarter and fourth-quarter syllabi feature the ever-popular tapas class (Wednesday, July 13 and Friday, July 22), which fills up quickly as pupils crowd to assemble a jigsaw puzzle of small plates such as andalusian shrimp fritters and moules marinara. Chefs learn the secrets of cooking quick meals with ingredients easily at hand on Wednesday, August 24 and Wednesday, August 31, fixing under-30-minute delicacies that far surpass slapping together a sandwich or microwaving some ice cream. Students over age 21 are welcome to bring their own wine or alcohol to complement the feast of munchable masterpieces held at the end of each session, and all will be sent home with doggie bags of any leftovers in the hopes of inspiring pets to finally start cooking for themselves.
