His breath puffing visibly in the freezing air, Paul Tawczynski ventures out onto the ice with fishing gear in tow. He leads groups of all ages and fishing experience out onto frozen bodies of water during ice-fishing expeditions. He teaches fishing teams how to drill holes through the up to 30 inches of ice supporting them and how to set up lines to catch the slow-drifting winter fish. Paul will also lead groups on bass-fishing trips during warmer weather.

An outdoorsman since birth and G. Loomis–endorsed guide, GSOutfitting's owner, Eric Gass, grew up hunting and fishing the Pioneer Valley and Berkshires. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Eric returned to guiding and now fishes and hunts with his faithful gordon setter, Duncan, by his side.
Eric leads fly-fishing trips aboard his 13.5-foot Aire drift raft, as well as local hunting trips for turkey and grouse. GSOutfitting also trains gun dogs and companion dogs, ensuring every hunter will have a loyal sidekick during the season.
Internal Network Group’s Fly Fishing Adventures introduces anglers to the Farmington River. On half- and full-day fly-fishing trips, guides and their charges wade through its tree-lined waters, casting for trout, which run rampant in the river. The guides boast intimate knowledge of the fish’s favorite gathering spots and help their fishing adventurers capture them with ease. Fly Fishing Adventures also serves the community at large by donating a portion of its profits to the Disabled American Veterans organization.
With its main lodge built during the era of the Founding Fathers, Orvis Sandanona serves as one of the oldest permitted shotgun-shooting clubs in the country. Given its history, it's no surprise that the diverse 20-stand sporting-clays course has been chosen to host many prestigious competitions. Lush greenery and wooden fences also extend to both the modern skeet and five-stand courses, where onsite specialists teach the English Churchill method of shotgun hunting. In addition, fly fishing instruction comes in handy during guided fishing trips arranged by the staff. The clubhouse's dining room?whose ceiling beams and wooden accents give it the vibe of a colonial tavern?serves as a cozy spot for lunch or dinner.
Laser tag, ziplines, hang-gliders, and paragliders aren't your typical bumper crop. And yet that's what can be found at Morningside Flight Park, which uses its green expanses as a training ground to help humans conquer the domain of birds and Frisbees. As students master the principles of piloting a paraglider, steering a hang glider, or flapping their arms really hard, they're treated to picturesque views of New Hampshire. All the while, expert instructors relay techniques and principles of safety in a fun and focused environment.
