Having adapted his training philosophies over the years, Austin Gwaltney quickly realized that there is no substitute for intensity. At Innovative Strength & Conditioning, hard work pays off as exercisers test their limits with a bevy of traditional and innovative routines. Gwaltney’s highly efficient workouts use full-body, multi-muscle movements to simultaneously ramp up the metabolism, burn fat, and build muscle. Gwaltney and his team also work with students who haven’t worked out in weeks, getting them up to speed after a winter spent on the couch or a spring spent in a Fluffernutter cocoon.

Michael Mikalon's artwork ranges from fine art paintings to gestural pencil portraits. He's also a deft illustrator, capturing everything from cute animals and mythical beasts to human figures in motion. As the artist behind 12th and S Art, he demystifies the creative process by teaching classes to students of all skill levels. Under his direction, aspiring artists master basic techniques by painting still life themes such as food, flowers, and frozen bees or practice portrait painting and gesture drawing by observing live models.
Inspired by the slow-food movement, the instructors at Community Tap and Table encourage everyone to make food deliberately and from scratch. Their events include techniques for such projects as curing bacon at home, canning and preserving food, and making tea-smoked salmon. Several of their cooking classes include beer pairings, and glasses of craft brew clink together during a foodie book club, punctuating chatter. Customizable private parties bring beer and food into the comfort of clients’ own homes, where they and a few friends enjoy cooking and pairing lessons from staff chefs wielding local ingredients. A portion of Community Tap and Table’s proceeds funnels straight back into funding farm-to-table projects or job-training resources for students.
Sham Sanghera's team leads students of all levels through intense fitness regimens within his intimate, wood-floored studio. He offers both personal training and boot camps, integrating his extensive fitness education into personalized sessions.
