Second-degree black belt Karel Pravec didn't get where he is today on brute strength alone. He worked hard to get there. And that's why at Silver Fox, instructors focus on building strong foundations in technique, which—along with physical and mental conditioning—is what builds champions. Inside the newly-renovated, 3,000-square-foot studio, students learn fundamentals and build up to more advanced levels during classes held seven days a week. The center also offers MMA kickboxing, ideal for anyone who wants to learn striking methods, get in shape, and have a cool acronym to throw around in conversations.
Blue Water Divers Swim School's experienced team of aquatic educators leads beginner and advanced swim programs for all ages, including adults. Beginner swimming sessions school no more than four burgeoning paddlers per class, as parents, tots, and tadpoles learn primary swimming skills, floating methodologies, and tips for eating crackers underwater in heated, indoor pools. Those with well-honed paddle skills may anchor themselves to one of four different courses, all limited to five students per class. The more advanced courses require students to swim the width of the pool using a variety of strokes without stopping. The Sharks class teaches techniques such as the butterfly stroke, methods for increasing endurance, and the consequences of splashing the wrong person.
