Carved through the tree-lined wetlands near the Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort, Golf Manitou's par-58 course showcases the artistry of architect Darrell Huxham. By design, each hole is a grassy homage to a different legendary golf course—the sand encircling the tenth green, for instance, recalls the Desert Highlands Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, and the towering pine trees around the third hole mimic North Carolina's legendary Pinehurst. Unlike the thick shag carpet covering other courses' greens, slick bent grass makes for fast putts at almost every hole—including the fourth green's two-tiered tribute to Ballybunion Golf Club in Ireland. Before rounds, golfers can warm up at the driving range, which sports both grass and synthetic hitting bays, or practice putting and chipping on a massive 18-hole, 30,000-square-foot practice green.
One of the first FlowRiders available in the area, Maeva Surf’s indoor system grants surfing aficionados a place to ride waves safely no matter the season or weather. The double FlowRider’s powerful pumps hurl water, like a schoolchild with a squirt gun, at 40 km/h along a trampoline-like surface made of tightly stretched canvas, creating two waves that accommodate a maximum of six surfers. During the introductory FlowBoard class, students absorb 30 minutes of instruction covering safety techniques and wave patterns, followed by 30 minutes on the waves themselves. Each ride on a flowboard lasts anywhere between 1 and 45 seconds depending on the level of expertise of the riders and whether they believe time is a construct of the mind. Meanwhile, students with reservations can choose to experience bodyboard instead. After class, students can browse the attached shop for beachwear and surfing paraphernalia such as Oxbow sandals ($17), a Rip Curl bathing suit ($50), and an O’Neill belt ($23).

McMaze was established more than a decade ago by Sandy McDonald, who designed the family?s first 3.5-acre corn maze when he was just 14 years old. Over the next 10 years, Sandy and his family watched their endeavour blossom into a year-round family-friendly business that hosts seasonal activities year-round. Fall is the family?s busiest season, when visitors flock to find spooks in their farm playground and wagon rides, and explore the pumpkin patch to search out a perfect specimen to be turned into a pie, jack-o?-lantern, or organic football helmet. The original hand-carved corn maze has since multiplied into five separate mazes, including a ?haze maze,? which mystifies wanderers by sending them on a seemingly endless journey through fog and lights, and a door maze that presents 52 possible exits.
Winter snowfalls fail to stop the McDonalds? love of celebrating, and so they invite families back to the 120-acre farm for old-fashioned sleigh rides through the woods, made all the more festive with hot chocolate and homemade cinnamon buns. Once the ground thaws in the spring, the farm comes alive again as guests descend upon the fields to help plant the first pumpkin seeds and welcome the arrival of baby farm animals as they parachute down from passing blimps. Homemade ice cream keeps things cool throughout the summer as pig and duck races entertain spectators of all ages, and parents stock up on corn on the cob and other farm-fresh produce.
