Originally invented by bored henchmen looking to pass the time at Doctor Berserko’s secret Antarctic lair, hockey has since overtaken polo and unicycle jousting as America's pastime. Hop on the bandwagon with today’s Groupon to see the St. Louis Blues play live at Scottrade Center as they simultaneously and oxymoronically out-cool and melt the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, March 16, at 7 p.m. Mezzanine tickets are in the mezz center [rows K–R] and mezz end low [rows B–J], and lower-level tickets are in the plaza end low [rows E–Q]. Check out the seating chart here. Kids three and younger get in free, though they are not guaranteed a seat, so bring along a lap or your dandling knee.

With panoramic views of downtown and the St. Louis Gateway Arch looming in the background like a giant croquet wicket, baseball enthusiasts and Cardinals fans can visit sites they don't normally see on game day. During the tour, fans will swing through the Redbird Club—a spacious, closed-in section of the ballpark with some of the best views available—as well as the press box, where the world first learned that Mark McGwire's goatee was actually a toupee. Visitors get to check out other notable spots in the stadium, including the Cardinals dugout, Trinket City, and the secret fifth base. While tours are usually available daily, visitors are strongly encouraged to call ahead.

In remembrance of North Carolina State University women's basketball coach Kay Yow, the annual 4Kay run recruits a stampede of pavement pounders to speed through straightaways in support of cancer research. An estimated 3,000 fleet feet will tip off the 2011 NCAA Women's Final Four as they traverse the 2.49-mile home of the famed Indianapolis 500, making pit stops to refuel and check ankle pressure. Walkers are also encouraged to participate at their own comfortable pace during this rain-or-shine event. On race day, the first 500 Groupon participants to check in will receive a complimentary short-sleeve Nike T-shirt for quick changes after a victorious finish-line sports-drink bath.
