Self Awakening Yoga owner Barbara Sterling describes its mission as guiding students toward a sense of balance that helps them be present in their own lives. Glossy, eco-friendly bamboo floor spans 1,900 square feet of airy studio space, whose white walls are painted with large-scale lotuses and Eastern designs. The studio fosters a community atmosphere by lending books, magazines, DVDs, and CDs to students for use at home.

The studio?s instructors have a variety of reasons for coming to the practice of yoga, whether it was recommended by a doctor after an injury, the solution to physical stress from marathon running or rugby, or the life-changing vocation of a close friend. Consequently, they teach classes and workshops that address a variety of needs through a spectrum of yoga styles, including Vinyasa, heated Vinyasa, prenatal, restorative, and gentle. Memberships and private lessons are also available to let students adjust the frequency and individual attention of their own curricula.

Since 1965, the family-run Ski Haus has kept customers coming back by adhering to the family motto: “Make sure we keep a fun environment and give everybody a fair deal. They get a ton of stuff for their money and we stay in business for a long time." Patrons can still expect the same low prices and see the same friendly staffers’ faces year after year while shopping for winter gear.

Racks stocked with apparel by brands such as The North Face and Marmot, skis and snowboards by brands such as Atomic and K2, and a team of skilled technicians have earned Ski Haus accolades from Ski magazine, SnowSports Industries America, and New England Winter Sports Representatives, Inc. During tune-ups, technicians polish skis, stone-grind ski edges, apply hot wax, and repair bases damaged by treacherous slopes and sharp snowman noses.

A maze of megalithic chambers and hallways made by man more than 4,000 years ago nestles into the snow- or moss-covered woods at America?s Stonehenge. Guests meander along a trail, marveling at one of the oldest constructions in the United States, complete with inscriptions, eating areas, and evidence of prehistoric art classes. Explorers delve into Stonehenge's history, learning about its use as an accurately aligned astronomical calendar, its role in the Underground Railroad, and the theories about who actually built it. Nearby, eight fuzz balls graze in the alpaca habitat, offering up skeins of yarn spun from their fluffy locks. Winter months coat the site's 105 sprawling acres with crunchy layers of snow, perfect for adventurous snowshoe outings or piggybacking on a snowman.

If you've never been to a Healthworks gym before, today's Groupon is just for you (sorry, regulars). It gets you a "class pass," which lets you attend classes at any of Healthworks' five locations: Back Bay, Brookline, Cambridge, Chestnut Hill, or Salem. You can also use the locker rooms, saunas, steam rooms and whirlpools. Work out, then relax in the bubbling waters and daydream about how good you'll look when bathing suit season rolls around. And because Healthworks is women-only, Larry Leering and Stanley Stare-Master won't be around to ogle you as you bust the moves.

Enhancing Mother Nature's spiritual flow, Green Tea Yoga energizes chakras and enlivens aspiring yogis with a rotating schedule of seasonal 60-, 75-, or 90-minute classes. Green Tea Yoga's experienced instructors guide twisters and toners through a series of poses to help to strengthen postures and limber up limbs. EarthSky yoga, a moderate-intensity class, brims with Vinyasa flow techniques such as bending, stretching, and controlled breathing. Students in search of a more intense course can slide into a Forrest yoga session, and moms-to-be can partake in a prenatal course or the Momaste class, designed to help to relieve stress and shake off lingering fears of toddlers taking over the world. Occasional children’s classes are also offered throughout the year.

On his way to work one day, Andre Boucher spotted a hot air balloon, and on a whim he decided to follow it. He met it where it landed, and the aircraft's pilot offered to take Andre up for a ride. Ever since he was young, Andre had been fascinated by aviation, but airsickness and a codependent relationship with gravity always prevented him from enjoying it firsthand. But as he felt the basket drifting with the wind instead of battling against it, Andre knew he had finally found a way to experience flight. He has since acquired more than 23 years of professional experience, even lending his expertise to an elaborate promotional flight for Pixar's balloon-based film Up.

Andre now captains A&A Balloon Rides, LLC, where colorful carriages lift patrons between 500 and 2,000 feet above the lakes, treetops, and fields of New Hampshire. Guests can arrange private or group flights, and they can set up flown or tethered rides for school events, company picnics, or aerial-photography sessions, the latter of which can finally prove that birds fly on hoverboards.
