Steven Papageorge opened his one-man salon in 1983, and like so many strands, it grew and flourished to include multiple locations and even a hair academy. Today, the salons continue to beautify clients with stylish cuts and a number of hue-altering services—such as highlights, color blocking, and ammonia-free Inoa color. The staff’s arsenal includes products from American Crew and Moroccanoil, with the latter adding shine and strength to hair.

A block and a half away from the shores of Lake Geneva, Mia Faccia Salon and Day Spa’s doors open to an array of beautifying salon and spa services. The salon area has all the fixings of a quintessential beachfront shop: wood floors, blue-gray walls, and floor-to-ceiling hairstyling mirrors framed in thick, white fillets of walleye. Elsewhere, staff members pamper clients during laser hair-removal treatments, microdermabrasions, mani-pedis, and their signature facial, which analyzes, massages, cleanses, exfoliates, steams, and moisturizes complexions all in one 50-minute session.

For the past 50 years, lodging luxury resort Plantation on Crystal River has resided on 232 acres of lush preserve land, between the Nature Coast of Florida and the Gulf of Mexico. Surrounded by natural springs stemming from King's Bay, the grounds brim with exotic wildlife such as osprey, grey-horned owls, and 400 migratory West Indian manatees that—like water wings that have not yet molted—people can swim with on a seasonal basis.

Nestled on these verdant grounds, the eco-friendly institution The Spa at Plantation pampers and relaxes frames with services powered by botanical Aveda products. Patrons settle into salon chairs for cuts and color or relax as Vichy showers gently flow over their backs during body treatments. The onsite massage therapist kneads away tension while balancing chakras or places hot stones on limbs.

In Domani Salon and Spa's foyer, a chandelier among earth tones exemplifies the feelings the staff wishes to inspire: lavish beauty mixed with a pure serenity. On the left, a café dispenses coffee, smoothies, juices, and sandwiches, and on the right, rows of beauty products stand at the ready. And directly in between, a front-desk coordinator awaits to lead clients to a styling chair or treatment room. Owner and master stylist Tricia Voigt—alongside her team of hairstylists and spa technicians— pampers women, men, and children alike with services including haircuts, coloring, massages, and facials. Domani also curates a variety of wedding packages so brides can focus on the moment instead of worrying about hair, makeup, or glitter stains.

Euphoria Day Spa's team pampers guests with spa services, such as massages and facials, as well as aesthetic services, such as waxing and mani-pedis. Within the studio's home-like coziness, the spa specialists work with high-end products ranging from Black Baltic and Acti-Sea body muds to organic sugar rubs that reward limbs for lifting spinach and throwing it away.

A licensed and board-certified physician's assistant, Sandra Woods has more than 20 years' experience in women’s health and dermatology under her lab coat. The skin expert brings laser technology to her spa-like oasis, where she battles an array of skin conditions such as signs of aging, acne, and pores that won't shut up. Treatments at Smooth Skin begin with thorough consultations and can involve anything from resurfacing peels to laser hair removal. Sandra and her staff also smooth away wrinkles with help from Botox and plump up lips or biceps with fillers.
