Exercise is for everyone. That's the belief at The Lotus Studio, where classes include yoga, Zumba, dance, and specifically designed fitness classes for seniors. Yoga classes range from flow-style and power yoga to relaxing yin yoga and chair yoga classes for those with weight-barring limitations. Zumba, meanwhile, feels more like a party than a workout, as participants burn calories while moving to easy-to-follow dance steps set to international rhythms. Kids get to have fun during Tumble Bugs gymnastics, ballet, and other dance classes to distract them from asking for a pony before every meal.

You won't find cars in strength and conditioning specialist Michael Howell's garage. Instead, you'll find weights, barbells, and other pieces of non-drivable fitness machinery that comprise his sport-specific home fitness studio, Dynamic Fitness & Performance. Here, he leads performance training sessions that aim to put athletes at the top of their game; baseball players build speed, MMA fighters gain endurance, and triathletes hone their longevity. All workouts include a 21-point functional movement screen. He also brings his programs on the road during outdoor boot camps at a local high school.

Mahoney CrossFit is many things, but there's one thing it is not: boring. Instead of rows of ellipticals and treadmills, this fitness studio's "box"?where students complete WODs or workouts of the day?contains barbells, medicine balls, and suspended rings. They're the essential tools of the CrossFit program, employed in functional ways, so exercisers not only shed calories, but also move better in daily life. Best of all, the routines are always changing, helping ensure students don't get tired of repetition and that bodies are always getting maximum benefits from every move.

Cory Cochran devised the inaugural Survive The Burn run by combining his love for running with his experience as a professional firefighter. To raise awareness for burn victims as well as funds for the Burn Foundation, the run mixes a scenic course, which participants can run or walk across for 5- or 10- kilometer, with CrossFit workouts and fun runs for kids. The race even includes a firefighter challenge, in which participants complete the course laden with firefighting gear.
