From the lavish products to the posh surroundings, Havana Salon aims to pamper visitors from start to finish. Since 2002, the staff of Havana has provided a wide variety of services, from basic haircuts and color treatments using Paul Mitchell products, to body waxing and full bridal packages that include an optional husband. Besides focusing on their clients' hair, Havana Salon also makes a concerted effort to give back to the community through charitable donations to organizations such as the YMCA and YWCA.
After a day at Jungle Tan, visitors may look and feel like they've just returned from a tropical locale. The salon offers a fleet of beds in which hot bulbs emulate the effects of the sun's rays, dialed to four different levels of tanning intensity. Those seeking a UV-free tan can opt for the Evolv airbrushing system, a unique technology which uses warm air to help all-natural spray-tanning solutions sink into the skin's surface. Certified airbrush technicians customize the color to match each individual's skin type. Jungle Tan also nourishes skin and fosters relaxation with personal infrared saunas, steam-hydration therapy, aqua massages, and body waxing. Rounding out its cosmetic surfaces, the salon hosts professional teeth-whitening services and eyelash extensions.
Glow Aesthetics's skilled aestheticians promote healthy skin with targeted laser therapy and treatments that call on products from Skinceuticals, Jan Marini, and Clarisonic. Led by owner Shayne Corson, the spa’s staff treats facial ailments with restorative services such as LED skin tightening, microdermabrasion, and laser skin therapy—all of which work in tandem to repair skin tarnished by aging, sun damage, and glued-on soul patches. The team also clears bodies of unwanted hair with waxing services and laser hair removal.
Originally a massage therapist, Sunnie Brown shifted career gears when she realized that it was the skin, not the muscles, she was meant to treat. Battling her own bouts of acne and seeing first hand the marvels of skincare, Sunnie attended school at the Dermal Institute of Los Angeles, which equipped her with the knowledge she puts to use today at Skin by Sunnie.
Here, Sunnie offers numerous skincare treatments, though each one is customized to meet the client's own individual needs. Anti-aging, classic, and Epicuren 3-layer lifting facials each bring their own nourishing touch to blemishes and other skin maladies. Sunnie also offers microdermabrasions and peels to further reveal skin’s radiant colors, as well as dermal needling, lash extensions, and waxing services that put the finishing touches on newly revitalized countenances.
Few people own a trademark. Dr. Jerry Darm of Aesthetic Medicine owns three. He pioneered the trademark procedures of LaserLift and LipoLift, which use noninvasive and minimally invasive techniques, respectively, to smooth fine lines and banish excess fat. To add to his repertoire, Dr. Darm added a third trademarked treatment: MiniLift. His accomplishments have led to invitations from aesthetic medical professionals around the world—including a 14-day trip to China to speak about his treatments at conferences in several cities.
The LaserLift procedure reverses damage caused by exposure to the sun, free radicals, and gravity malfunctions by regenerating collagen and tightening the skin with laser wavelengths. LipoLift destroys fat with a laser that melts fat cells through a small incision and allows them to be removed more gently than with traditional liposuction. The MiniLift is performed only by a board-certified plastic surgeon and is available only at Aesthetic Medicine. At the Lake Oswego location, which boasts more than 14,000 square feet, Dr. Darm helps patients feel beautiful in other ways, including combating spider veins with laser therapy or sclerotherapy and keeping wrinkles at bay with injectable fillers. The center's weight-loss program helps patients shed pounds under the guidance of medical specialists and dieticians.
Schafer Studios' namesake and owner, Alan Schafer, knows the ins and outs of hair care. This comes from more than 20 years of crafting stylish looks and a knack for talking strands down from particularly bad hair days. He’s joined by aesthetician Mary Simpson, who counts actresses Halle Berry and Melanie Griffith as previous clients. No star credentials are required, however, to book her for a facial, wax, or tinting service.
