The Beauty Room's licensed aesthetician and nail technician Julie Wobbe lets clients ease into relaxation during treatments such as facials, eyelash and brow tinting, peels, microdermabrasion, airbrush tans, and waxing in her space inside of Utopia. Wobbe?s treatments are the result of years of experience: she has tested several techniques and products to find the most effective combinations.
Robin Ford tends to hands and feet at Expression Salon alongside a staff of other nail technicians and hairstylists. While she works, staff members dole out a wealth of beauty treatments—from haircuts and color services to facials, waxing, spray tans, and gel manicures. Stylists use products by Thermafuse, L'Oréal Professionnel, and Kenra. The salon's coral-colored walls and punchy green accents surround visitors, along with free WiFi and our collective unconscious.

In the sumptuous confines of Glamour! Beauty. Body. Boutique., chandeliers glimmer above pink-and-white-striped walls, plump black sofas, and rose-colored armchairs. Marie Antoinette and her courtiers would look at home amid the salon’s ornate black scrollwork and pink satin.
From the salon walls, the framed visages of Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe watch deft stylists wield Paul Mitchell products as they snip and color clients’ locks to reflect classical dos or avant-garde trends. The team can also lengthen locks with hair or feather extensions and craft updos for formal occasions. In addition, the salon offers facials that use Bioelements products, waxing services, and eyelash extensions.
Sunlight streams in through tall windows, illuminating Headlines Styling Studio's newly remodeled interior of pale green-colored walls and dark hardwood floorboards. The open, naturally lit space takes on an easy atmosphere that's accentuated by a team of experienced stylists. Though they maintain an inviting demeanor, they approach each of their classic salon services with the attentiveness of a poet watching a bead of dew floating on a dandelion fluffy. They transform manes with the help of salon-quality products and precision cuts, removing dead ends to accentuate facial features.
It’s 2008 and Tobie Theis is thinking about her next move. For 15 years she’s been sharpening her hair- and nail-styling skills while working in a number of different salons. But, she wants the autonomy to fulfill her potential and make her vision for a salon real. Together with her husband Joe, the two set off to finally achieve a mutual lifelong dream: owning their own salon.
Since that bold step, Tobie has overseen the blossoming of Eden's Apple Salon & Day Spa into a full-service beauty oasis that offers everything from haircuts and extensions to massages and tanning. Within three months, Tobie and Joe had completely renovated the interior of the salon, filling it out with arched thresholds, shelves full of salon products, and a wall-sized mural of a beautiful woman. In time, her team also grew, now including eight hairstylists, two aestheticians, a licensed massage therapist, a nail technician, and the woman in the mural—whose large eyes can spot any aesthetic imperfections.
