The aroma of chicken cooking fills The Chicken Barn, where patrons can opt to have their poultry à la carte or generously surrounded by biscuits and sides such as corn or mashed potatoes. Chicken resurfaces throughout the menu fried or as friendly nuggets, and garden salads add gastronomic diversity. Diners can then tackle desserts such as cheesecake or brownies, which end meals more easily than writing out closing credits on napkins.
Photographer Laura thinks of photos not as keepsakes or freeze frames, but as the doorways to memories, made immune to the ravages of time. She captures her clients’ life-altering events on film, providing them a way to step into their own past and remember growing up, getting married, giving birth, and raising a family. She organizes her online photo gallery with such descriptors, a glimpse of the entire cycle of human existence in one drop-down menu. After taking shots, she transforms pixels into both prints and retouched digital images, depending upon client preference.
Music thumps and LED lights flash as up to 15 people don props and watch themselves file into Flash Photo Booths’ private booth on a 20” flat-screen LCD monitor. After guests select color or black-and-white photos, an ultra-high-resolution, 18-mega-pixel digital SLR camera snaps shots every six to eight seconds. Lab-quality printers produce 4"x6” prints in fewer than 15 second, enabling partygoers to collect ample evidence of revelry at weddings, birthday celebrations, graduations, and reenactments of landmark court trials. Greenscreen effects are also available, allowing customers to set their photos against exciting backdrops such as a leopard-filled jungle or a hockey game. An onsite attendant follows the booth to take charge of both setup and takedown, and remains on-hand to assist with operation.
At Elaine Begley Photography, boudoir shoots don't necessarily require a costume of lingerie. Rather, she and her all-female staff work with whatever a client feels comfortable wearing—even if that means showing just a glimpse of skin. Elaine feels out her client's preferences at a preshoot consultation, and then captures her inner seductress at fun, laid-back boudoir shoots. She retouches resulting snapshots to play up natural beauty.
