Q&A with Rebecca Lavin, Owner, Lmp

Sometimes the little things make all the difference. Do you bake any supplementary services into your main services?

Come and experience a truly relaxing and invitingly deep massage. I strive to make my bodywork as relaxing as it is therapeutic. I blend several different styles such as, Swedish relaxation, deep-therapeutic relaxation, myofascial release, neuromuscular treatment, and aromatherapy into my massage to provide you with a profoundly relaxing and effective massage experience.

Because of the intensity and uniqueness of my work, I usually see no more than three or four clients a day to make sure that I can give you the best massage experience possible. I also leave you plenty of time after your massage to relax on the table and dress in a leisurely manner.

Do you use any products or brands you're particularly proud of? What makes them uniquely effective?

DoTERRA CPTG-certified pure therapeutic-grade essential oils are 100% pure, natural, aromatic compounds carefully extracted from plants. They do not contain fillers or artificial ingredients that would dilute their active qualities, and they are free of contaminants such as pesticides or other chemical residues.

What is the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a client?

From a 90-years-young female client receiving her first massage as a gift from her daughter, "If heaven is anything like this, I am ready to go."

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?

A fair portion of MassageBeneficial's mission is to empower my clients with tools for safe, effective self-care between visits. Most people cannot afford a massage everyday or even every time they feel the need. For those wishing to learn more about natural approaches to wellness and self-care, I offer private consultations and education around which essential oils or blends may be the most effective in supporting a client's individual emotional or physical concerns.

Todd Hymel was chugging along, getting his bachelor’s degree from LSU when the universe intervened. While meditating with his friends in Santa Fe, Todd had a vision that directed him to study acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Packing up just his bike, tent, sleeping bag, and some summer clothes, Todd set out for Seattle to study at Bastyr University. Acupuncture Clinic NW represents the culmination of Todd’s journey, where he and his fellow practitioners balance bodies using traditional Eastern medicine. Clients can seek solace from pain through traditional acupuncture, cupping, herbal remedies, or bodywork that blends acupressure with shiatsu.

Lake Washington Massage Therapy has cultivated a roster of therapists who all have backgrounds in rehabilitation. These therapists can each render at least one of the center's reparative modalities, such as medical massage and sports conditioning. The latter works to resolve chronic muscular problems, such as sciatica and carpal tunnel syndrome. The earth-toned lobby echoes the relaxing nature of the massage treatments, encouraging ease and calm right away.

People who come to Mindy Harbaugh for a facial might notice the extra care she takes to match clients with the right treatment, as well as her joy in their successful transformations. Before opening Min's Day Spa, Mindy spent many years as a nurse, and her career working with patients helped shape her approach to client comfort as she transitioned into her new operation. Upon examining the service offerings of the spa industry, the career medical provider found that her skill set uniquely positioned her to raise the bar. With the goal of providing results-oriented beauty treatments, she compiled her menu of services that includes familiar spa staples such as rejuvenating body wraps, massages, and waxing, with technology-based offerings such as non-laser HydraFacial MD treatments. Clients can expect every service completed with the care earned by Mindy's years of experience in the health field as well as her belief in offering only treatments that she has tested and found to work.

After working professionally as a chemical engineer for eight years, Shelley Banoo decided to direct her deep understanding of molecules and compounds toward improving human chemistry. First acquiring a license as an aesthetician and then as a massage therapist, she blends an intricate understanding of chemical minutiae and a genuine passion for anti-aging skincare science to compile a roster of products that produce real results. Layered technologies are used in customized facial treatments, such as microdermabrasion, micro-current, oxygen infusion, and LED light to produce the best results for the client's needs. Having now practiced spa work for 10 years, Banoo has grown accustomed to seeing all types of skin and can sometimes recommend an appropriate regimen of treatment on sight, eschewing tests and intrusive hugs other practitioners often rely on.
