The Little Gym's caregivers know that growing up doesn't just mean getting taller; that's why they encourage children to develop social skills and exercise brains as well as bodies. Parents of children aged 3 and younger can participate in their kids' growth by attending parent-child classes in which little ones achieve milestones such as crawling, standing, or sprouting wings and taking flight. Kids as old as 12 expend energy and develop friendships in gymnastics, dance, and karate classes, all held in a noncompetitive environment.
Johnathon Inman dove into personal training nearly 15 years ago while in the United States Air Force. His passion for whipping bodies into shape has taken him to train with the USAF Academy, Bally Total Fitness, and YMCA, before becoming his own boss with Next Level Personal Training. He works with clients one-on-one and gathers groups for boot-camp classes, where people work together to flip giant tires, carry logs, and sing both parts of “I Got You Babe.” Johnathon specializes in weight loss, body-fat reduction, strength building, and core enhancement, and he takes care to include all aspects in his workouts.
Ara Celi and Robert Godines founded Matador Men's Grooming after gaining years of experience as Rooster's franchisees. They wanted to bring the same quality of service to a venue that felt a little more local, like a classic barber shop. They and their barbers still partner dashing, close-cropped haircuts with shaves, head and face massages, and hot towel wraps. They also offer waxing services particularly focused on grooming the eyebrows, and hair tinting to banish the flecks of grey that show up as people age or slowly become statues.
For more than three decades, locally owned Spectrum Athletic Clubs have aimed to create a resort-like experience for patrons with upscale perks and personalized care. After workouts, gym-goers can avail themselves of unlimited towel service and change in comfortable locker rooms. Other amenities include saunas, steam rooms, healthy cafes, specialized workout areas, and complimentary Internet access.
In addition, racquetball courts let athletes improve their game independently, and patrons can sweat solo on cardiovascular equipment with individual viewing screens. Group classes, more than 1,200 of which are held daily, include Zumba, Pilates, Body Combat, and CXWorx sessions and enable trainees to draw motivation from each other or from each exercise studio's complimentary tank of moxie. The Spectrum Kids Club gives kids a place to play while adults work out and hosts such events as pool parties and pizza parties throughout the year.
To enter most gyms you need a keycard, a key fob, or an already unlocked door. But at Your Fitness 365 Xtreme, you only need a finger. The doors to the 24-hour facility are equipped with fingerprint scanners that can recognize guests and politely turn away doppelg?ngers. Once inside, gym-goers are free to use the exercise equipment, sign up for TRX training classes, or schedule a one-on-one workout with one of the gym's personal trainers. Complementing the gym's fitness services are amenities such as towel service, an infrared sauna, and an onsite massage therapist.
