When dealing with a timid and fearful dog, Eric Juarez, owner of Paw-riffic Cuts Pet Salon, has a wealth of advice. The first thing a person should do is let the pup take the lead. "Crouch down, extend your hand, but wait [as long as you have to] until the dog approaches you." Armed with a wealth of dog-related knowledge, Eric and his partner strive to provide expert grooming at affordable prices. Eric has years of experience tending to various breeds of dogs, as well as cultivating relationships with their owners. The staff uses biodegradable products when bathing dogs, selecting the correct product depending on coat color and texture. A line of imitation-designer scents keeps pooches smelling fresh, even if they've been sprayed by a skunk or played fetch with a Pacific bluefin tuna.
Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center began weaving itself into the fabric of San Antonio’s arts and theater scene more than three decades ago to share the richness of Chicano, Latino, and Native American art forms. Now a cornerstone of the community, the nonprofit touches the lives of more than 100,000 people each year with theater and dance performances, cultural festivals, and creative classes. The center passes down traditional forms of expression, such as Mexican Folklórico dance and cactus juggling while also embracing contemporary art forms such as photography.
Each year, Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center’s festivals welcome large crowds of adults, kids, and multiple Waldos. Foremost among them are CineFestival, the Tejano Conjunto music festival, and Hecho A Mano, a holiday crafts and arts festival. For its members, the center organizes a wealth of educational programming, teaching everything from oil painting and guitar to karate.
For more than 70 years, family-owned Professional Auto Interior Upholstery has made cars look new inside and out. Techs repair small nicks in vinyl and scratches in leather, or can completely rebuild and customize auto interiors. The experts have worked on everything, restoring classic Jaguars and Harley-Davidsons, reviving living-room couches, and glamorizing boats, planes, and custom golf carts. If it drives, flies, or floats the team can refinish its seats, dashboard, and door panels, and it's also probably a witch.
