For decades, the aroma of freshly baked cookies has lured kids to the kitchen. There's something irresistible about that combination of melted chocolate and sugary dough, and it's not something you simply grow out of. Thanks to Nestle Tollhouse Caf? by Chip, you don't have to. The sweetest shop in McAllen welcomes kids of all ages to browse cases lined with giant cookie cakes, gooey brownies, and old-fashioned chocolate chip cookies. On warm summer days, the shop also serves ice cream and, upon special request, douses customers with the cookie dough hose.
Edible Arrangements' fresh, artful dipped-fruit boxes combine the aesthetic elements and emotive properties of floral arrangements with the juicy deliciousness and socially acceptable edibility of fruit. Delve into the depths of fruity expression with one of nine chocolate-dipped fruit boxes valued at $25 or less, such as chocolate-dipped apple wedges ($25), or the boxed 15-some of decadent fruit truffles ($25). On a holiday or any day, an Edible Arrangement can turn a frown into an upright grapefruit wedge, a tear into a three-tiered citrus structure, and a friend into still just a friend, but one with a sweet, balanced diet.
Vicente, the resident chef at Gazpacho's by Las Tablitas, specializes in incorporating Mexican flavors into globally inspired dishes. In some cases, these are pretty straightforward—empanadas stuffed with sautéed spinach and caramelized onions, or shrimp tacos doused in chipotle sauce. But the remainder of his menu takes a more roundabout route to Mexican tastes. He fills savory crepes, for instance, with poblano peppers and corn, while his paninis sport ingredients such as grilled chicken, avocado, and herbed mayo. Each globetrotting feast unfolds amidst vibrant oil-painted canvases in a lively dining room, which fills with the upbeat sounds of live music every Friday.

What is one of your signature services? How is it performed?
Chiropractic, Nutrition, Acupuncture, Biofeedback, and our new Tui Na Chinese Medical Massage are the specialties here. We also focus on treating the whole person and give a Comprehensive nutritional evaluation for every patient upon request. We evaluate blood chemistry, hair mineral analysis, ALCAT Food Sensitivity and Intolerance, and saliva hormone tests in order to teach our patients how to become healthy with food and nutrients. When one knows which foods adversely effect our health and which are missing from our diets, we can correct biochemistry and help the body heal itself. Our 21 Day Purification Program is our signature program and the beginning of this process. Many have recovered from conditions that their medical doctors have given up on or considered untreatable.
When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
I developed a passion for healing work at a very early age caring for animals and helping others in need. I knew that I would be a healthcare practitioner. The accumulating passion is easy with over 19+ years of seeing so many people get relief from pain and discomfort with the help of Chinese herbs, homeopathy, nutrients, exercise, chiropractic, acupuncture, meditation, yoga, emotional freedom technique, biofeedback, or massage.
What steps do you take to make your clients feel at ease?
We take our time and make every patient comfortable with their starting point for wellness recovery. We do not judge. We foster personal responsibility in a compassionate healing environment. We use humor and relatable stories to help our patients connect with us until they know that they are in the right place. Our practice is based on referrals and we value our positive reputation for observing miracles of health restoration on a regular basis. We sometimes hire from our recovered patient base and feel that they contribute first hand to our wellness story.
To Dan Kim, a red mango is something truly special. The fruit only becomes that color for a very brief time, when it's most ripe, most delicious, and most nutritious. This became an allegory for Dan, a frozen yogurt enthusiast, who was conceptualizing his first yogurt shop. He opened the first location in 2007, vowing to use all-natural ingredients that, like the red mango, are both tasty and healthy. His commitment to conscientious snacking certainly caught on, as the brand has since expanded to more than 200 locations throughout North and South America. In 2011, Red Mango took top honors for frozen yogurt shops and for healthy options in a Zagat poll.
In addition to being all-natural, Red Mango's award-winning yogurt satisfies a range of diets by being gluten-free, kosher, and low-fat or non-fat. Each of the nearly 50 flavors, which range from green tea to dulce de leche, contains calcium, protein, and immune-boosting probiotics. Depending on the location, people can serve themselves or order from the full-service counter as they concoct sundaes crowned with anything from fresh fruit to peanut butter cups. The menu includes more than just fro-yo sundaes, however?it also features yogurt parfaits, Skinny Sorbettos, and fruit or boba smoothies. In addition to developing secret handshakes with their favorite yogurt taps, regular visitors can sign up for the Club Mango rewards program to receive special offers and discounts.
Mountain Glacier quenches thirsts with crystal-clear jugs of bottled spring water, which are free of additives, preservatives, and chemicals. Each cooler comes with both cold and room-temperature water, suitable for cold lemonade and room-temperature water balloons. If anything should go awry, the company is quick to provide customer service and any necessary repairs.
