After finishing a semester-long cosmetology course at a local community college in her hometown, Debra Casco found herself smitten with the beautification process. She took her passion for the discipline to the next level by enrolling in the San Diego Paul Mitchell School, and, upon completion of her training, she began to gain real-world experience at numerous salons in the city. Soon thereafter, Debra departed from her original dream to fulfill an urge within her to care for people on a more serious level. She returned to school, this time for a nursing degree that landed her a job at San Diego Hospice, because to her, both career paths are "all about taking care [of] someone that needs your help."
Upon returning to the salon industry and opening up Magnolia Salon, Debra adroitly combined her passion for sculpting female tresses with the care and selflessness required of her in hospice. Her squad of hairstylists and massage therapists echoes Debra's dedication to the craft and to customers by carefully administering a range of services such as cuts, massages, and makeup applications.
Janusz Stanisz maintains a strict policy with his stylists: No Attitude Allowed. So unlike your typical salon, Hair Studio Janusz hosts no cat fights, no flame wars, no pudding throwing?so clients can come in, even on Sundays, to escape the perpetual stress of normal life. In his chic space with modern monochromatic tile and streamlined red salon chairs, Janusz's team performs trend-savvy cuts, colors, and texturizing treatments with only the highest-quality products. Staff colorists dunk their dye brushes into Framesi?s color line, which comes infused with the rich antioxidants of grape stem-cell extract to protect hair from the sun?s harsh rays while adding bold tints to hair. Color creams and Framesi IDentity keratin treatments set underneath the heated gusts of a retro, red hair-dryer chair, which fuses treatments to hair to reveal a dramatic new look without conducting a casting call for the other half of a drama mask.

Amid the full-length photographs of models with stylish cuts that cover Salon Kensington’s canary walls, a black-and-white portrait of Audrey Hepburn looks down coquettishly over the intimate boutique. Hepburn was famous for her European-like beauty, making her a fitting avatar for a salon steeped in both European decor—sleek black furnishings and warm wood accents fill the room—and European hair techniques. With more than 30 years experience in the industry, master stylist Marissa Hernais leads a team of stylists who beautify clients with a range of aesthetic services, from haircuts and highlights to thermal-straightening services. Within private treatment rooms, aestheticians smooth skin with papaya-enzyme peels and full-body waxing, and technicians decorate nails with UV gel polish, silk wraps, and complimentary nail art.
