Growing up, photographs were an important part of Bill Keane’s life. His parents prized portrait photography and snapped photos of Bill as a baby and on their family vacations. In his early 20s, these photos served as a way of reconnecting with his parents after their passing. He went on to hone his shutter savvy by working out of his college dorm room to take wedding photos in 1968. Today, the art of photography has evolved immensely—but Bill's love of telling stories through images has endured. Bill and his staff of seasoned professionals expertly capture family memories during photo sessions. Their specialties include Baby Steps pictures to chronicle young ones' first years, family photos to record rare acts of family members remaining still, and senior portraits to commemorate high-school years.

According to veteran photographer Debora Cartwright, two hours before sunset is one of the best times to schedule a portrait session. That way, the camera can capture kids, couples, or families as they smile beneath bright daylight and the warm hues of the setting sun. Of course, Debora also shoots at other times of the day, ensuring that she has the ideal, natural lighting for her sessions. Debora serves as the principal photographer for Del Mar Photographics, and with her team she shoots portraits on-location throughout the San Diego area. Aside from lighting, the team takes time to consider clothing choices and setting, perhaps deciding on a beach or San Diego County Park. Alternatively, they can work indoors to capture headshots for profile pictures, actors and corporate teams. Del Mar Photographics also specializes in maternity and boudoir photography.

Like a secret agent, Joseph Stein spends his time traveling the world and passing through crowds almost unnoticed. He leaves not with state secrets but with a trove of candid pictures of brides, grooms, and their courts. On the scene, he blends a photojournalistic style with his knowledge of posed portraiture. That way, families can pick their favorites to preserve in handsome leather photo books, Blu-Ray slideshows, and prints, rather than having to recite their cherished memories to a police sketch artist. Stein hosts engagement and family photo sessions in a variety of settings. Couples might pose on the cusp of a fountain downtown or before rushing waves at the beach. Toddlers likewise can smile from the comfort of their favorite cardboard box at home.
