In an increasingly digital age, the team at Pacific Beach Photography still believes that there is no substitute for prints and wall images. From documenting a family?s history to capturing a surfer catching their first wave, Pacific Beach Photography is there to help memorialize the moment. Photographers specialize in surfing pictures, baby photos, engagements, weddings, events, and lifestyle portraits, and they always bring a fresh perspective to each job in order to keep their work from going stale. Pacific Beach Photography happily hosts subjects in its natural-light studio, or staffers venture out to local beaches and destinations for vibrant, dynamic scenic shoots.
Carmen Ridenoure's family wasn't surprised when she decided to make photography her career?she'd been staging photo shoots since age 9, with the help of old wedding gowns, disposable cameras, and her sister. Since then she's earned two photography degrees, explored photojournalism, and opened Reaction Photography Studios. In all her work, she says on her website, her goal has remained the same: "to look at ordinary moments and capture them in an extraordinary way." Her portfolio overflows with intimate candid and playfully posed portraits of young couples and newlyweds as well as children, family, and pets. She often shoots on location, framing her subjects in the surrounding woodlands or even gritty industrial settings.
Though she's the only one behind the camera, photographer Rebecca never works alone. When she travels to shoots, it's with her young Queensland Blue Heeler, Piper ?an abandoned puppy that Rebecca took in. Piper's gentle yet playful nature puts clients at ease, and the interaction trains her, in turn, to be relaxed around people and tripods that look suspiciously like weird cats.
Piper's presence also speaks to Rebecca's power for communicating with humans and pets alike. During her 90-minute photo shoots, she connects with her subjects to capture their personalities against scenic backdrops. Former clients have ranged from labradors romping on the beach and entire families posing in a park to newborns sleeping peacefully at home. She even has a list of beautiful locales that she recommends for portraits, including a winery and the private trails behind her own home and studio.
Fotomojo?s team of pro shutterbugs empowers aspiring photographers with the skills to artfully manipulate the latest cameras and photography tools. They do that during workshops that cover everything from exposure to shutter speeds, manual modes, and HDR image processing. Hands-on shooting exercises also ensure students master techniques learned in classes.
