At over 100 locations throughout the country, CorePower Yoga (CPY) invites students to creative classes that meld movement, breath, heat, and music into entrancing routines to energize the body and mind. Signature CPY classes are taught by approachable certified yoga instructors who lead students through dynamic, Vinyasa-style flows with demonstration and verbal cues, helping pupils of all experience levels tone core muscles and cultivate balance. CPY also offers teacher training and lifestyle programs to empower students to become yoga instructors or to just advance their individual practice. During construction of all its new studios, CPY strives to use recycled content, install eco-friendly and efficient mechanical systems, and ensure that any waste created doesn't end up in landfills or just piled in Mr. Henderson's garage.
Instructors never run out of steam at BODYROK. It’s their job to keep the atmosphere upbeat and encourage students to push through their demanding Sculpt and Cycle classes. The 40-minute Sculpt classes heighten the core-toning effects of Pilates with cardio exercises on individual Proformer machines. The Proformer's resistance can be adjusted to accommodate any fitness level so first-time students can follow the workout and veterans can continue to challenge themselves. In Cycle classes, students hop atop Scwhinn A.C. Performance Indoor Cycle Trainers that use magnets to generate resistance instead of forcing riders to pedal through tubs of yogurt. The two workouts collide in the 50-minute Sculpt and Cycle class as students hop from Proformers to Schwinns for a blend of lower body- and core-focused training.
Despite its name, Pilates 4 Women Only is a multidisciplinary women’s fitness studio. While they do host Pilates classes, which build core strength and flexibility, they also teach their clientele the basics of TRX suspension training, yoga, and kettlebell lifting. Their instructors have especially savvy tips for safe prenatal workouts, and postdelivery workouts that burn baby weight.
Nature's Whisper Yoga puts a special focus on pregnant women and new mothers, with a range of classes that include Hot Mama Yoga for moms-to-be, and Mamas Tummy Time Core, which welcomes new moms with their babies in tow. The classes help mothers connect with their babies as well as their bodies. But the studio offers a wide variety of other yoga styles as well. This includes energetic flow, Hatha, candlelight yoga, and restorative yoga, most of which can still accommodate expectant mothers.
At the Yoga Factory, anti-gravity yoga reigns. Practitioners safely settle into silks suspended from the ceiling, then twist and spin through a series of asanas. Besides strengthening core muscles, the aerial practice can ease joint pain, reduce backaches, increase flexibility, and help students prepare for upcoming auditions to be Tinker Bell's stunt double.
